The biggest, glitziest night of the Hollywood calendar has been saved at the 11th hour after screenwriters called off their 14-week strike and returned to work on Wednesday.
It's likely the Academy Awards would have been a star-free zone - like last month's decidedly unGolden Globes - had the dispute continued, but now they can go ahead in more or less traditional fashion.


The 80th annual Academy Award winners have been announced:

Best Picture: "No Country for Old Men,"

Other nominees: "Atonement," "Juno," "Michael Clayton," "There Will Be Blood."

Director: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, "No Country for Old Men"

I liked my thread better where I listed the important ones and linked all the films to IMDB so people could look at comments by ignorant Americans saying stuff about how they believe in god etc.
