Xbox 3 Red lights

Just got forza 2 and was getting into it, been waititng for forza for ages then suddenly the xbox crashes and when i came to turn it back on i had 3 red lights which means its dead i think? Not even 1 scratch on the forza disk

where do i send it in for repair?

Contact Microsoft directly I think, then someone picks it up (Not sure about that) and they take it away for a full repair which takes 2 weeks to get back to you. 3 lights is a hardware failure I believe, you might want to look this up in the instruction manual because all the people I know whose 360s have broken have had the 4 lightsd (the red ring of death).

yea i had the same prob, microsoft sent me a delivery label and i had to box up my 360 and a courier came to pick it up, took about 2 weeks all in.

Sometimes you can get red lights for not having the xbox setup properly, I had 4 red lights for having the plug halfway out the wall so check everything before you commit to a repair and make sure you haven't used any unlicensed equipment like cooling gear by other companies cause if thats the source then Microsoft won't fix it because its been damaged by non-Microsoft hardware.

its supposed to be caused by the system overheating inside causing the motherboard to literally warp thus causing a hardware failure.

the problem with sending it into microsoft is they just refurbish the console and so its prone to the same thing again, this is why you see people saying they have had this problem multiple times.

this is why im not going to get a 360 yet, i was going to get one at the start of the year but the widespread amount of problems with the console is making me to wait till they move to the 65nm production (smaller components inside = less heat and power consumption) which should sort out the heat problems which are causing all of this.

i took it back to game today because i found my receipt and had it less than a year and they gave me another free so got it sorted O.K

We get loads and i mean LOADS of xbox repair center boxes coming through work every day, i didn’t realise just how many people have had problems with them, they don’t look like they pack them very well though! Suppose me and my bro have been lucky because we’ve had no problems so far
