Cant connect to live - help asap please!!

hiya.

Just back from uni and brought my tv and 360 back so i can play on live for a month....or maybe i cant!!

Im connecting my 360 into the back of my PC, and im using a USB modem. Im currently getting the message:

'your gateway did not respond to a network request' at the IP address part of the connection test.

Any help, would be amazing, thanks!!

dont you need a router??
or have you just took the cable out the pc and put it in the 360??
have you allowed sharing of the network?
have you tested the connection in the 360 settings?

but i think you are gonna need a router tbh.

edit:: you say your using usb ?? the 360 is ethernet.

ive had it working this way before. My usb goes straight into my computer.

I think it might be something to do with connection sharing, as i havent touched that, but i cant actually remember how to...

any ideas?

yeah, sorry im not making this very clear am i!!

ive got my modem - which has one socket plugged into the phone line, then another usb going into the computer.

Then i have an ethernet cable going from the back of my PC into my 360.

ahhh sorry, thats cleared it up lol
so what the ethernet pluged into on ya pc?
i know its gotta be into summing that will allow you to share the net and not just an empty slot.

ok i found how to do it, got to the properties on my internet connction and click the advanced tab....but theres nothing about internet connection sharing....i swear there used to be..... what the hell am i meant to do now!!
