WOW i didnt see that coming
Question is what will MS do now?
BlueDragon is shifting more units then ever, but it seem those japs just love their franchises too much.
Probebly a big price drop, MS can afford it if they really are making £75 profit per sale.

MS are a western company building their consoles for a western market and thats why they won't do as well as Sony or Nintendo in Japan.
Best thing MS can do is buy up the rights to companies that manufacture games that make the Playstation and Wii popular in Japan, this would then force people to buy their console over another as its the only one offering the games they want to play. Obviously they need to get the FF franchise onboard with them, the only reason I would even consider buying a PS3 (except for resale on eBay) would be to play the next FF game. Without this game the PS3 will fall flat on its face (IMO). If MS (or Nintendo) manage to get the rights to any of the major RPG franchises (KoH, FF, MGS etc) then they will in effect remove Sony from the market around the world. That is if Sony havent already done this themselves with their very poor launch this year. A big price drop (say £75) from the current Japaneese price would make a big difference as the console would be reletivley cheap, MS wouldn't make an initial profit but would recoup it through software sales (like Sony are intending to do with the PS3) so they could easilly pull it off.
But do MS really need to become a large part of the eastern market when their already so dominent in the western market? MS are already reaping a fortune with the initial sale of their consoles coupled with xBox Live Gold.
The problem is with MS being such a powerful company they could cause serious harm to the gaming market by buying up all of the big selling titles making getting any other console pointless (kindof like the windows scenario, everythings built round windows now-a-days so other OSes are pretty pointless)
