HALO 3 Legendary Edition

Today in the Official XBOX 360 Magazine there was a massive 5 or 6 page preview for HALO 3 showing off the original screenshots we have seen in the other HALO 3 thread.

You'll have to take my word for it or look at the magazine yourself but the screenshots look much much better looking and far more 360 like, just goes to show that the screenshots on the net were pants.

But the most interesting thing of all was the HALO 3 Legendary Edition for those who haven't heard.

The Legendary Edition comes in the form of a Spartan Helmet which can be removed and contains not 2, not 3 but 4 disks.

1 of course being HALO 3 the game but the other 3 containing loads and loads of extra features including directors commentaries, overview of the story so far and plans for the future with the HALO franchise.

Its all sounding very interesting and if that wasn't enough, official XBOX magazine have officially play tested some of the online multiplayer maps against Bungie, Bungie lost aparently.

of course the early screenshots were pants, they are in like aplha stage development atm and not got all the lighting and effects which is usually added in the last few months of a games development etc... by the time halo 3 is done i expect it to look as good as GOW

lol that legendary pack is proper geek style, ill just be buying the norm game thanks..

Official XBOX 360 Magazine also comments saying that Bungie refused to answer any questions or make any comments on HALO 3's single player campaign but rather the magazine was shown a 10 second clip only once by Bungie.

The clip showed Master Chief mounted on the turret of what OXBM describes as an extremely detailed warthog as the driver accelerates into a massive battleground fit for World War 3 with ships littering the air and gunfire absolutley everywhere.

OXBM says that the alpha showing of HALO 3 shows off the 360s capabilties and that the draw distance is literally massive and the scenery is very attractive.

But most importantly in the single player campaign on the battlefield OXBM comments saying that Master Chief is not the only Spartan...interesting.

EDIT - I'll also add to that, the HALO theme was in full tune during the battle.

by the time we get halo3 next year i would expect GOW to look pretty dated tbh.
but there always GOW2 and 3 to to make halo3 look dated lol.

I can't wait to play halo 3, I enjoyed the first one very much and the second one, I am half way through and just as good. You can see the level of effort put into each, if they keep up with the image, I am sure they will succend.
