Project Gotham 5 Will Be Xbox 360 Exclusive

It's Microsoft's baby!
With Project Gotham Racing developer, Bizarre Creations, falling into the arms of Activision yesterday, the question of the franchise's future has been well and truly resolved from both sides of the deal.

Activision has amended its press release to state in no uncertain terms: "The Project Gotham Racing franchise, which is owned by Microsoft, currently has an average game rating of 89%, according to GameRankings.com and has sold more than 4.5 million units in North America and Europe, according to The NPD Group, Charttrack and Gfk."

While Microsoft has made an equally unequivocal statement today†, saying, "Bizarre Creations has been an great partner for Microsoft Game Studios and we wish them nothing but the best in the future. Project Gotham Racing is a signature racing franchise for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE and we plan to continue the series but we have nothing further to announce."

So, prepare for Project Gotham Racing 5 from a brand new development team. And prepare for another superb racing game via Activision's Bizarre Creations studios! Excellent.

Oh no new development team usually mean crap games

And if Bizarre do make a new racing franchise they will do what they do best with will be the PGR style.

So even with another name the PRG racer could be multi-format.

I wonder how this will unfold

I don't get why racing games get such raving reviews anyway. They are blatently all the same.

try playing Forza 2 or GT4 etc... I used to spend hours tuning the settings on the cars etc.. to get them just right for racing, more so on Forza2 as on live tuning the car properly really counts.

Even with that, in the end it just boils down to driving round and round generic one route tracks.

but to me thats enjoyable... I spend a lot of time working on my car etc... so I love playing racing games and I used to play forza 2 a LOT on live. I find racing games more entertaining than any other type of game.
