Todays celebrated famous birthday of the day is Jimmy Carter
 Carter served as US President from 1977 to 1981. His foreign policy met with some success—he mediated the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt and signed an arms treaty with the USSR—but his domestic policy was less effective. His administration was unable to control oil-related inflation or reduce unemployment, factors that weakened his second presidential bid. Since leaving office, Carter has been active in a number of human-rights causes. What prestigious award did he receive in 2002? |
