Legend of Mir 3The unique characteristics of Legend of Mir 3, which have become the proud trademarks of this MMORPG, are the 3 superbly balanced character classes, exciting siege warfare, massive AI invasions and raids, easy intuitive interfaces, its own unique quest system and the complex element system. “Mir” means “dragon” in ancient Korean and the continent, which is the place for the game play, bears the name as well. The users, who wish to step on this mysterious and amazing world, will be able to select a role of Warrior, Sorcerer, and Taoist to be reborn as a hero to repulsing the endless attacks from the evil forces and protect the continent.
why post then? oh wait i read your other threads... spammer
mir3 is a direct3d ran game, so just make all your options for direct3d set for "best performance" and turn off all enhancements and that's about as good as you're gonna get it.... thing is though, people go on and on about gfx cards when it comes to mir, fact is CPU is MUCH more important when it comes to running the game.
altering those settings wont affect gameplay much, in fact turning on some features might slow the gameplay down in mir3! so i leave vertical sync always off, and the rest at default settings.
I thought it was strictly directdraw too. But then how come the minimum requirement is "3D graphic card"? Shouldn't need to worry really though, Mir 3 is basically the same as Mir 2, graphic wise. Only it's 16bit color, so may require more video memory.
Really turning your driver setting to the lowest should result in the best perfomance gain you can expect. The way i see it, nvidia and ati should know their cards capabilities best, therefore i consider their tools the best. Might be wrong, its only my opinion.
Ive tried these tools such as GeForce Tweaker or RadClock (i think thats the name) and didnt notice no performance gain and a graphics quality loss.
But then, some games for me (Halo) ran alot smoother when the performance tab was at Quality rather than High Performance
Now MIR3 doesnt quite require the same specs as Halo to run, but there is no BEST configuration for a gfx card, it's all down to personal preference and what kind of system you are running.
Apart from being able 2 use some direct3d only antialias settings and antriscropic filtering modes there really isent that much you can change. anything over 128mb shudent really even get that warm. If at all if it has a fan. lol
as far as im aware u cannot tweak it ingame. not that you need to...
MIR3 doesn't use the OpenGL library, it's a Direct3d game (yes, Direct3D, not DirectDraw).
Beta phase will be a good chance to find the best settings for our graphic card
I guess one way to find out is to log what directx functions the Mir3 is calling.
I have a feeling the frames are created by the CPU and copied over to the framebuffer.
IF they are using 3D hardware for a fancy 2D engine you would think they would do the following
Texture compression. Saves memory.
Nice alpha effects on the pixel level. ( Solid body, semi see threw cloths. Not the normal either the sprite is all solid or all semi-transparent)
Scaling and rotation of sprites since it will be free ( shooting amulets and fireball types spells).
Maybe even bump mapping to give it a bit of extra depth. ( look nice with torches and spells).
Why the big contreversy over gfx cards lol, mir will run with probably the crapest gfx card you could find knocking around. Because it isnt a 3d game it isnt gonna use much of ur gfx cards memory. The game will run mainly from ur proccesser/connection, things like spells will be powered by ur gfx card, im using a gefroce fx 5600 128 mb, mir3's gfx wouldnt look any diffrent using a geforce 4 256mb.
And whats this about turning ur graphics card down lol? U cant have ur gfx card set "too high" for a game.

the game will run on just about anycard......
But  if u have say.... 20 WTs on ur screen at once, on a low-end GFX card ur gunna lag big time, if ur on a high-end card it wont phase it.
this is why in town people accuse eachother of speed cheating, just because they have high-end GFX Cards
however i agree, it does relie on ur connection,
Soundcard is also good, as when in places like ST B7, u get 500 Bugbats around u & u blast them, ur screen might freeze due to the sound, this is mostly soundcard being unable to process all the sounds at once.
