Interesting read, although the exagerating of the importance of TF in the past regarding the life of LOM 2 verges on comedy
lol there was no exadgeration. LOFM and now TF was the only place a conversation could be had. there was minimal idiots flaming nonsence (most flaers here had reasons ). people who wanted to talk about stuff that GN didnt had to come here. i personlay think LOFM and TF was very important in helping the community along. where else could we all talk about stuff other than mir when not online?? other forums tried and failed, det and forge kept this going and itrs just grown and grown

Sorry, but lofm and TF were very unimportant to the life of LOM 2 or to most of the people who played it. It was very important to a small % of LOM 2 players and I'm not knocking that at all, its just makes me laugh when I see the exaggeration. Community/Player activity on the boards is a reasonably good measure. TF has about 22,000 posts on LOM 2 forums. The official forum has over 2,000,000 posts. There are also 100s of other LOM community sites - guild sites, guild forums, fan sites that also have a forums and discussion that combined dwarf activity on TF. I'm sorry if theis offends anyone but it happens to be true.
Also the community back from lofm days didn't really like the mir2 community at large or a lot of them the game much and wlel the interview does read a little cheesey.

well ME thinks it was important
EDIT: i suppose i should conced, you are in fact correct. i thinki may just be that for me TF WAS important. TF was where i went when i wanted a chat or a discussion, none of the other forums seemed anywhere near as friendy as tf, so maybe thats why i think it was so important, i dunno lol

You could say that but for me it was lofm and if I recall no one from the main mir community forums was really interested in tf in the early days its only when they could get something for free arcade, file hosting, info on new games that they have come here.
At the start the community was from mir2 but it was a lofm community and building our own I feel.

aye definatly, maybe it was that originaly we were all linked thru mir, that was what we all had in common and the rest formed around that. as more new people come in who never played mir, so the family grew. the best thing was they becamce part of OUR (or dets) family, instead of diluting ours...if that makes sence

I sort of got the impression that most of the TF regulars where ex LOM2 players with a few of them who still play, but they largely don't even talk about LOM anymore so the LOMness of TF gradually got less and less. Now its linked with LOM3 then its suddenly 'The site that saved LOM2'. Except that strangely they've demoted the LOM2 forum (which apparently was so important to the community) because of some funny squabble with LOM2 staff (which if slightly peevish when you consider that TF owes its existance to them). Now this would be fine if LOM2 was closing, and if everyone wanted to play LOM3 but as it is I think TF should be more honest and say 'we don't actually give a stuff about LOM2, we want you all to play LOM3 because thats where our business interests are' rather than inventing some fiction.
Anyway as everyone knows it wasn't TF or lofm that saved LOM2 it was Duckbill, oh sorry I mean LouD, errrm I mean <insert your favourite LOM personality here>.
i did go on to explain why TF was so important to me. i realise that to most they had either never heard of it or didnt use it. no TF didnt save mir2, nothing could save mir 2. what i beleive tf did for some was to keep us sane lol (at least a LITTLE bit sane )

I was wondering when someone would get round to that.....
I can't lie about it, I have failed miserably AGAIN.....
I have the determination and will power to succeed in every other area of my life, but when it comes to cigarettes, I guess i'll have to live with the fact for now that it is my biggest weakness.
There is no excuse. I simply can't stay quit, no matter how much I try, or how long I give up for, I always end up back on the cancer sticks...
Doing 20+hrs work almost every single day now for how ever long it's been, coffee was first one to be increase dramatically, but in the end it was my old enemy that came back to haunt me...
Sorry m8, i was hoping you'd still held out, i know how hard it is ive try'd 2-3 times but just dont bother now as i make myself miserable and everyone round me miserable when i do. Gl for next time and in the meantime lol if we ever get this tour/meet sorted ive plenty duty free's you can have on the cheap
