Do i have to do anything specific to be part of the closed beta?

I've registered and i'm downloading the 1.3gb client.

It looks like it's going straight to open beta, which would obviously mean we could all play straight from the start.

The site is pretty cool, I'm seriously disliking the forum they've done though. I'm way too used to this style of forum.

I'm not quite sure I want to use the forum, I haven't seen anyway to setup a username for the forum. I certainly hope it's not using people's ID as a forum username as that would ensure the game would be rife with hackings.

Got downlaod going now. The site is really nicely set out and looks professional but the only downside is the forum like Det im too used to this style of forum.

Looking forward to playing again though

That's why i've not posted to it yet. I looked through account management and profile bits and saw nothing that sets the community username up.

All the better for TF hopefully if people are happier to continue using this forum for posting purposes. I guess we'll see soon enough.

I am looking forward to playing Mir 3 though, i've never played the game in any kind of normal fun fashion.

It's literally just finished downloading for me. It's been a constant set 200KB/Sec for me, so I think they are throttling download speeds at their end to keep things rolling, end result though, is that it's taken just over 2 hours from start to finish. That is on a 20meg connection, but when throttled at 200KB/sec net connection means very little.

I really cant believe Im sat here waiting for mir to download, which is gonna take about 8 hours!! for 1.3gig!!

I might actually play this instead of mir 2, I think mir 3 has potential ran properly! Especially with assasin.

Downloaded mine and hubbys this afternoon, took 2 1/2 hours ish but we good to go now

wish I could get my money back on wow lol.

I left it downloading at work (4mb leased line 1:1) and was getting like 40k/sec (it hadn't finished by 5pm

)

Trying to download it now at home (on 14mb ADSL) and i'm getting 16k/sec

Well.. so much for 20k/sec.....I've installed freedownloadmanager... which is now downloading the client at 1.1mb.sec

Must be a lot of ppl downloading now when i down loaded it took 25 min.

But after instaling had a look at the config file & the IP address in there is in south korea

9hrs for me at home after work yesterday evening- 45kbs. Assumed it must be a busy download cos earlier that day it was running through at 200kbs.

Have to see what 300-400m/s latency feels like in game ;s One step lag for European players will make it a pointless endeavour.

The download took me around 2hrs, it was going around 100kb then shot up to 700 for a while. Only 13 hours til the game is launched! Gotta do loads more uni work before then though
