Legend of Mir 3The unique characteristics of Legend of Mir 3, which have become the proud trademarks of this MMORPG, are the 3 superbly balanced character classes, exciting siege warfare, massive AI invasions and raids, easy intuitive interfaces, its own unique quest system and the complex element system. “Mir” means “dragon” in ancient Korean and the continent, which is the place for the game play, bears the name as well. The users, who wish to step on this mysterious and amazing world, will be able to select a role of Warrior, Sorcerer, and Taoist to be reborn as a hero to repulsing the endless attacks from the evil forces and protect the continent.
Here is a copy of the announcement for those of you too lazy to go and look for yourselves and also to act as a permanent historical documentation of the closure, so that there is a permanent record.

The only surprise left with this annoucement for me, is that it's taken so long to actually officially happen. Those games have been dead for most for a long long time and dead to GN for months except in the way of trying to steal further money off of the people who were still able/willing to pay them.
My big dissapointment is that they've not opened the doors and let everyone have one last little play of the game, seeing as so many people were so damn loyal, for so damn long. But it's typical GN to not stop and think for one single moment about the community in any way shape or form.
Lets just hope that other gaming companies at some point read about the exlpoits of GN and QGO and learn from all the basic fundamental errors and fubars that were mad by them.
As i've said at every other opportunity regarding the death of Mir, it's such a shame, the game could have been something really special, just the PVP system in Mir 3 would have made it an amazing game if it had ever been implemented properly or worked properly, with a decent amount of people actually playing it, it had so much more potential than was ever realised.
Hope your going to be able to find another game to play Moonie. Maybe TF should group together and find a decent free to play game for us all to play and set up a guild and stuff in, so we can have a bit of fun?
Hope your going to be able to find another game to play Moonie.
No that's it for me too old now to start learning a new game Mir was so easy and fun to play and players of both Mir2 and Mir3 knew I never pk'd or even attacked anyone and they left me alone lol. My eyesight is bad too, playing Mir with just the one eye came 2nd nature to me.
I for one will certainly miss it I retreated into those lands back in 2001 just after my Mum died, never did I think I would still be playing it to it's death and yes I'll be there when they finally pull the plug I'll go down with the ship
Its sad!! its like watching an old ship thats been struggling for years finaly be decommissioned. Iv made loads of friends since I started playing mir2 years ago. We have said a sad farewell to some too
hey if you don't want him....
I got my long lost workaholic son back I hadn't seen him for about 5yrs and only got a couple of phone calls every year from him so was suprised when I got a pm in Mir3 saying Mum they keep killing me lol I had to go to SW and ask them to leave him alone as it was my son and his first online game I didn't inform them he was in his 30's lmao we never looked back after that he even took time to come see me. I think the most enjoyable thing though was playing alongside him Amy and Gazza. Joshy made an account when GN took over for the summer holiday so I had my son and 3 grandchildren in tow. It was a shame I couldn't get my daughter to play but she thought we were nutters especially me I was old enough to know better and should stop acting like a big kid LOL
Mir2 although I never met anybody irl I made so many friends 2 of which have a special place in my heart and they are Det and Taggy
Moonie... You haven't met me YET... If I ever get time to myself I will come down to see you as was once promised, it'd still be just as stupid not to, it's less than 20 mile away.
Anyhoo Moonie, got a request for you as one of the last surviving Mir players... Take a shed load of screenies over the coming weeks and post them to TF as attachements in the Mir section of the forum. We need the historical documents for reasons of, ermmm, historical documentation and cause they are always cool to look at.

This seems to be confusing a few folk does it mean any accounts that are paid for up to Feb 1st onwards or are they opening the servers free to anyone that played Ventus. Hope I've worded that right or am I in GN mode LOL
I wonder if i downloaded it will be REALLY old mir account still work? So tempted to give it onee last whirl!
I always loved taming my bores i remember when i had 5 knight bore things, cant remember their names! So long ago! lol
Id imagine that theyd just put the server into free mode since its easy to do, but anythings possible and they might just leave it open for existing paid up accounts. To me it reads that you cant make any new accounts, but any existing accounts will be able to, provided theyre not banned or whatever

I havnt got it downloaded to try and get my game back though!
Edit:
I just tried it and logged in as trial account, so unless i'm doing something wrong or GN ment a different 1st of Febuary 2009, then it looks as if its only free to play for people whose accounts were recently active.
