40 mins to go. Nice download speeds, upwards of 400 KB/s and that's while i'm downloading several dozen other things on game PR sites as well. Surprised they're not throttling the download speed from their end though, maybe this means they are using some nice beefy hardware and have nice line speeds, which would be a first for Mir.
Strange as it may seem, but the thing i'm most looking forward to, is the simple bit of music on the login screen...
Snooth install and all works ok straight off. Patching for Mir 2 is somewhat different to what I remember back in the day, all automated by the looks of it.

They're setting up a forum sometime soon. So probably tomorrow
Is a little annoying, tomorrow is WoWs 3.1 patch, which is a huge content patch - so pretty much all the bored wow monkeys like myself will be wanting to see how that goes.
Its not the end of the world nor do i think wow is going to make or break mir, but its an unlucky launch date imo, given how many ex-mir players i know who play wow. If people log on and the servers pretty much dead, they might get bored quick and leave.

I think it's just a load test, it's not as if it's a brand new game, all they have done is obtained the working server files and a matched client to distribute, more than likely to be the same version that's still being played around the rest of the world still,
I'd be surprised if there are any bugs to fix, they just need to load balance the data around
the server, and the network, and make sure there are not bandwidth and peer problems.
If its similar to the one onrunes of magic, its to let you use your mouse to type in the id and password. Think it stops keyloggers.

Can't wait for Mir >.< kind of scared due to the insane amount of hours i spent in it back in the day.
P.S. So yeah someone on msn linked me to sign up for beta, then someone else spoke to my mate in rl about it, who was also a TF lurker from long time ago, and now i found my way back to the forum, so yeah if i decide to indulge in my mir addictions i probably shall be posting alot more in here
