First match for Roy Keane as Sunderland manager today...
What do you Man Utd supporters think of his appointment, do you reckon Sunderland are onto a winner, or do you reckon he's gonna get us relegated and end up getting sacked? Taking into account, a lot of rumours are saying he's basically just the next Man Utd manager in waiting. So in that aspect, surely you'd want him to do good?
Personally I was never a fan of Roy Keane, I always thought he was a right pikey Irish thug, with no control over his aggression and even less over his mouth, but having read his autobiography recently and having seen all the press releases and comments he's made since becoming Sunderlands saviour, I now see him as something much more than that, I now see him as a passionate, intelligent, caring, football loving man, who i'm praying takes Sunderland to where all Sunderland fans want to see their club.
There is also a lot of rumour around Sunderland that we will be taking Ole off Man Utd in the January window and it's only cause Rossi went to Newcastle that we didn't get him before this one shut.
I really want Sunderland to get promoted this year, just so I can witness the reception Roy Keane gets when he arrives at Old Trafford with his Sunderland team.
I think his links with Man Utd will be very valuable. I have no doubt he will make a decent manager, but I think it comes down to if or not he can keep his temper in tact. Motivating players is one thing but there's a fine line between motivating and "shouting."
I believe he'll do a good job for Sunderland, wether or not you go up this year will be decided in January I think, although if the game against WBA was anything to go by, you're dead certs.
