I reckon it's probably dead right, even more so with financial times being tough. From my experience of women, they all have this natural compulsion to shop, even if they are the most frugal of people normally and that is why a lot feel so bad once they get home, because they sit there once back home with all the bags in front of them and they suddenly realise, a lot of what they've bought they really didn't need and now they have a bigger than ever credit card bill or less cash to do food shopping or whatever other money they've used for the shop.
Only women with more money than they can possibly spend and those women that spend other peoples money don't feel any guilt, I reckon.
