Does anyone drink these daily, or one of the alternatives that are out there?
For years i've been getting bad heartburn and eating Rennie like sweets and when I've had a heavy meal had rumbly tummy and the likes too, so a couple of weeks ago I thought i'd give them a weeks trial and see if they would make any difference... Firstly, if you don't know what i'm on about, go here: Gut Health | Probiotic Drink | Good Bacteria | Digestive Health Anyway, 3 weeks into my Yakult revolution, I've gone from needing around 72 Rennie a week down to less than 20 and i've not had a single rumbly tummy since day 1 of taking my daily Yakult. I've seen a variety of trials on TV regarding probiotics and the results seem to have been inconclusive, but for me there is absolutely no doubt at all in my mind about the effects they have had on me, it's unbelievable just how much better I am feeling and as a result i'm feeling happier, healthier and a lot more motivated to take other steps to making myself live longer. I don't expect to hear miracle results for everyone, but surely others must have enjoyed such extreme effects as I have. I might add, that for the last week i've also been preparing far healthier meals due to feeling much more motivated and so as a result I have lost the best part of 5kilos in the last week too so am feeling fitter on top of it all. So whats your experience of them? |

Yeah the strawberry actimel ones are nectar but I only drink them for the flavour, never noticed any other effect although I don't have any digestive problems.
They remind me of the Ski yoghurt drink that for some unknown reason they stopped making, I could drink that by the gallon freezing cold. |

i saw a food show once and they was asking the makers of actimel what they actually do, turns out if you have a decent diet and no particular problems then they don't actually make any difference and are just a nice drink.
i did try the yakult for a good while and i cant say i noticed any difference and they are quite expensive. |

I've been getting bad heartburn since I was a teen, I've got so used to it over the years that eating Rennie has become as part of my diet as drinking coffee (which i've also managed to drastically cut down on). I know getting heartburn is my body trying to tell me something aint quite right though, but have never really worried too much as the doctor I saw many moons ago about it said I was just unlucky that I have a slightly higher than normal acid level and that I should just avoid certain foods to stop it aggrevating my system. It's not completely relevent to the actual probiotics, but the fact the exact same day I start taking Yakult is the exact same day my heartburn drops to almost none existant tells me that there has to be some relationship going on in there somewhere with the probiotics seemingly balancing out something that obviously was not working quite properly and thus doing something very good. As daft as it sounds, the price of Yakult for me is actually a lot cheaper per week than the price i've been paying weekly for Rennie for the last 20yrs or so, so it's a bloody fantastic trade off for me. Not only do I feel better, i'm also spending less too. |
