Fresh outta Famitsu magazine comes new pics of Devil May Cry 4. From the article, it was translated that the game takes place after DMC 1, but before DMC 2! And this time ala Metal Gear Solid 2, you play as a new lead character by the name of Nero(who just happens to look like a young Dante). Here are some excerpt from the article:
-Nero has devilish right arm. He can draw enemies toward himself and then throw them.
He starts to realise his powers in DMC4. DMC4 portraits Nero when he earns his powers and hereafter.
- They chose Nero because Dante was overused (3 games) & they wanted to put the new users and the old fans in the same starting line for DMC4.
- Nero looks like Dante because the silver hair and red coat is more like a symbol to the DMC series/
- “Dante is grim and he can’t settle down. As story progresses the situation changes, how’s that?” says Kobayashi meaning that Dante might be playable.
-They introduced the right arm draw-throw system because in DMC3 when you beat the enemies, combos brake. Besides expect the sword and weapons this system provides multiple choises and the fun expands, However depending on the enemy you can’t draw and throw everyone of them.
- The combo system has as base the one from DMC3 & they are revising/reworking details according to the fans’ comment-remarks.
-Nero’s sword has a bar. The sword has somekind of a driving force in it. It’s a new way/element to enjoy the sword handling.
-In TGS there will be real time footage.
New kid on the block, didnt see that coming.
A little dissapointed Dante isnt head boy, but nero looks cool so should be alright.

It looks great, Nero looks like a cool character too, I hope he has a good VA when this hits the UK, and no cheeseball action lines
Are you not annoyed you are not in DMC 4? You have made the series famous only to get the boot for the next gen.
If I was you mate, I wouldent stand Capcoms stance about how "you have got nothing more to give". Chin up mate. You have saved the world like 3 times now.
Do your gun shooting sword slashing stuff and ruin Capcoms s***.
Thats quite annoying, I don't mind the addition of a new playable character but I hope its not for the majority of the game, I mean MGS2 was an awesome game but many people wished it was Snake rather than Raiden, I think this will be the case also with DMC4 if Nero replaces Dante for too much of the game, also the similar looks could possibly indicate Sparda had another son ?
I just want my fair share of Dante, cause if not then i'm gonna miss;
"This partys getting crazy! lets rock!"
and
"What are you!?"
"Whos knows!?, i'm not even sure myself!"
You can't not love the one liners in DMC, they go so well with Dante's arrogance from his abilities.
Especially if it makes full use of the PS3's power, which means you could have a **** load more enemies on screen and that would certainly take DMC to a new level, give a whole new meaning to 'Lets rock, baby!'.
I would love to use Dante to slay hundreds of enemies.
its totally and bloody pointless in making a supposedly "new" character who likes and dressing almost idenical to dante, but just give him a new name.........what is the point...........add new characters yes! but dont take away the lead, as people said everyone wanted snake in MGS2, it should be good, but i reckon would be better with our lush dante........
looks a tad underwhelming but still a long time before its released so i expect the gfx to improve greatly, also screens arent the best quality, i hope its gfx end up around heavenly sword's level.
Actually I think you will find Nero is the Japanese translation for Nelo because the 'l' sounds like an 'r', Nelo being Nelo Angelo who is actually the dark looking knight in DMC1 but also known as Vergil ala Dante's twin brother, which would explain the blue coat would it not ?
Maybe a false translation ? I can't see them introducing a completely new character, hopefully it is Vergil but the other DMC4 teaser would also lead you to believe Dante will definately have a big role as well.
Its more the fact of the blue robe and Vergil features that seem to give it away and I also look at the fact I posted in my previous post about Nero being from the japanese translation and usually it is translated as an L which would mean he is referred to as Nelo which was Vergil's name in DMC, Nelo Angelo to be precise, we shall have to wait and see, would be better if it were Vergil though.
