1. Pet Bugs
(Info from Andergaster Thread "Pet Bug" Link, magicgirl Thread pet launisch? and Mayas Thread Der Unterstützungsmodus?)
• Japan-Bug: A Lag of the Server is called "Pet Bug" or "Japan-Bug"; what happens is this:
While it looks for the player as if the Pet ist flying away, in reality the pet stays where it is and other players will see where exactly the pet is. To solve the problem it is enough to make a lag on client side, it is not necessary to warp to the next porter and go through to get the pet back. Depending on your PC you make a client side lag when you make 1 or 2 photos (pressing print screen on your keyboard), move the window of the game (if you play window mode) or try to find the pet and click on it.
• Char-Rip Bug: Through char-rip the loyalty of the pet is not allowed to drop below 0. That means, if your pet gets negative loyalty through hunger and/or pet rip one can push the loyalty up to 0 if making a char rip.
• Pet-Rip Bug: If playing in dangerous areas, my first move is, to let pet die, so that the loyalty only drops 5 points. That way in most cases there will be no further loyalty loss.
• Blessing from the Earth bug: Any aidian with pet in pet mode 7 (combat mode) or 8 (escort mode) using the skill blessing from the earth will see his/her pet going after the char he/she just blessed. For the aidan it will look like an attack on the blessed char, for that char it will look as if pet is following him/her instead of mobs. Changing pet mode to collect or disengage helps.
• Missing Action Mode-Bug: Mostly after game start or port pet action mode is missing. This might also happen while AFK-levelling (or areas with many chars levelling afk), do to lags or test of guides for use of forbidden morghs. If you press O for pet menu you’ll see massage similar to “pet is being hatched”. Just give pet any action mode, e.g. press 7 for fighting.
• Ghost Mob-Bug: this is no special pet bug – but especially deadly for AFK-ler, if not recognised in time. With the current patch the old bug with certain mob, that won’t take damage, became more frequently, similar to not-there-items. This lag born mob is only there for your char and pet, other players won’t see it. Luckily this ghost exists only in certain places and won’t change it’s position or follow you. Your char can attack this lag-mob and your pet will love it, while taking damage form all else. Pet, once bitten into its foe, will only stop hunting this ghost, with its own death or chars change of place or change of action mode. (making photos or moving the window won’t help)
• Different Dam in Shilon: This is definitely no bug! In Shilon the Parkie's difficulty, dam and def, varies. This variation is dependant on the filling of the pillars.
2. The Egg
Depending on the race of your char the egg has different values. Generally the egg can’t be thrown away, sold, traded or stored. The egg needs 5 strengths and says its price is 500k. This price isn’t real and isn’t used when changing egg or pet at NPC – so nobody knows what it stands for. If one wants to exchange a hatched pet against a new egg (e.g. because one doesn’t like values of current pet), NPC will do that free of charge (Thx to Ghisler). Egg needs 20 hours breeding (the hours in game may be measured a bit different form real-life hours). For breeding the egg, place it in inventory slot for coat / Aidian wings. If char rips during breeding, the 10 min. breeding time will be added. The Vet gives info about remaining breeding time.
• Human Egg / Bulkan Egg / Aidian Egg:
Def: 1
Magic Def: 1%
• Kailipton Egg:
Def: 20
Magic Def: 22%
Manacosts: -21%
Its as good as a golden cloak
• yellow/golden Pet:
The pet colour depends on the breeding/hatching char. Normally the colour is a dark, muddy yellow (like iron oxide yellow) changing only minimal with new body parts. If pet is bread by a char who’s name starts with a number like 2cold4u or 0815, a bug will give the pet a golden/yellow colour, as if the char where already meta. The pet will stay this golden (see able for everybody) no matter if or how often it is transferred. An other possibility for a golden pet is a char reaching meta. As soon as meta is achieved, pet changes colour on players screen, all others will see this after a relog too. Y is my Pet YELLOW and Chefliege ist nun Meta.
3. The Vet
The vet gives a breeding char info about the remaining time, till the egg will hatch. Pet owners can bring pet there for safekeeping against charge. If pet dies, you will find it there too, but you’ll have to wait during the time necessary for its resurrection. Vet will charge depending on pet hunger, level and loyalty. Tipp: Giving Pet to the vet for safekeeping isn’t necessary, since loyalty will still decrease with char rip. So if vet wants to charge you for loyalty below 0 because of pet rip, a char rip will increase pet loyalty to 0. If you play in a dangerous area, just bring pet up to loyalty 20 and then let it rip. That way vet will charge you for loyalty 15, further char rips will not decrease pet loyalty.
4. Pet Transfer
(Info from HP and threads Patch-Termin und Changelog and Transfer von GFChaos)
You can transfer pet from your char to a char of another account, who hasn’t already got a pet/egg, you can’t transfer it to another char of your own account or a char who’s already got a pet/egg. The level of the char is unimportant for the transfer.
The seller buys a Labiyong transfer deed in Grocer NPC located in Dekardi Lost Realm at the price of 500,000 Lime and puts the deed in the trade window. Neither seller nor buyer should have anything else in the trade window, only exchange of Lime is allowed. Pet attributes woun’t change, the buyer will receive the pet with the same amount of free exp., body parts and values. Before transfer the buyer only sees the pet name, level, free exp., hp and the A.P and D.P. (the meaning of A.P and D.P hasn’t been found out jet.) The pet name will change after the name rules (“name of char” of ”name of pet”).
There are some chars that will do the breeding for lows, there are some offers for pets with various levels on the market. Personally I would charge depending on level and invested time 150% - 250% of investment for pet, basket, deed and levels, for pets above L 50 up to 350% or more.
5. Pet's Information
(Info from Master1000 Thread "Kompletter Vollidiot am Posten" Link and mike439 Thread "_ _ _ Level" Link)
With O or the pet symbol you get the Pet’s Information that list the following Info (the shown text may differ a little depending weather you play with 800x600 gaming mode or 1024x786):
• Name = Name of the Pet, unnamed pet is always Labiyong. Pet has to reach L 30 in order to be named. NPC sells naming tags for 500 k witch you put on a quick slot and activate with the appropriate number. You then type your pets name. You will see your pets name only in the Pet’s Information and the Pet’s Menu. Other players will see it as "Name of Chars" of "Name of Pets" when they put the mouse curser on your pet.
• Level = gives level of pet
• Exp free exp for lvl up or body parts
• Loyalty (also shown through emotions from your pet – pet doing looping for high loyalty, laying in back for low loyalty an pet dropping on floor for negative loyalty) goes from +20 to -20 points and gives a (rounded down) 0,5% bonus per point to both attack modes. Char rip decrease is 2 points, pet rip decrease is 5 points, Satiety under 50 will decrease 1 point Loyalty and Satiety under 0 will decrease it further.
• " " or Satiety also called hunger - goes from 100 (when pet has just eaten) over 49 (when pet will eat an apple from its basket as long as there is one) and over 0 (when pet will stop self healing) to -20 (when pet will die of hunger).
• Vitality gives Life/Hit Points (HP): actual points/max points(base points without Items) – regeneration in disengage mode is 1/10 of max hp per second, regeneration in all other modes is 1/30 of max hp per second.
• Close Atk gives attack points for combat mode
• Distant Atk gives attack points for long range mode
• Close Def def points in close combat.
• Distant Def either def points against magic attacks or def in long range mode.
• Assembly Lv can be increased with heads and horns – maybe for reduction of exp cost while producing capsules.
• Speed with witch pet moves / follows you / flies to sensed foe. Wings can increase speed. The speed with witch pet attacks is the same for all pets.
• Req Lv unknown.
• Amulet place above the basket for apples. Pets above L 60 can wear the amulet of Earth, above L 80 the amulet of the Sky. For futher info about amulets see under items.
• basket for apples The Assembling Merchant NPC sells baskets for 100k. With Q or pressed Shift-key and klick on pet you open the menu. Although the basket has 7 places you may only put 3 apples into the basket. The other 4 spaces have been closed do to afk-levelling. Without basket you can give pet only 1 apple.
Tip: To save expenses for apples active-levelling chars give the pet only 1 apple when Satiety reaches 0. The one missing point in Loyalty isn’t that importend and as soon as pet isn’t regenerating itself its time for another apple.
Tip: Pet can eat chocolate and other sweets, they last a bit longer than an apple. Sweets are given/sold on a wedding or other events.
Tip: The Lime Bracelet (=Bracelet of Alchemist) works on pet kills to. Pet isn’t as expensive if pet levelling is active and in optimal area and drops are picked up and sold / used. About approx. L 60 pet owes its own lvlups in Dekardi, in Shilon it earns less Lime compared to gained exp and uses more apples as you will drink more.
*number in brackets always gives points of pet without items.
*+Numbers or –Numbers behind the brackets give a Bonus/ Malus for Loyalty. 1 point Loyalty = 0,5% of max value (with items) of attack rates. It refers to number in front of brackets.
6. Pet Features & Items
(From Tala’s Thread "Petitemliste" Link, BF-HP, Thorm’s Bugreport Hypergegenstandsproduktion and Patch-Termin und Changelog)
With items Pets get the number in front of brackets. So the number in brackets is the determinating value, it gives the real and comparable number.
It is still unknown what the best items really are, since Req Lv and Assembly Lv are not known jet. With the Items you have 41.000 possible combinations to build a pet. One might build Pet for dam or life or def, but in higher levels the bonus through items is very small compared to a level up and to the value differences between pets of the same level. Some items give very small bonuses compared to the items the pet is hatched with. Eagleclaws have only +9 HP, +14 Close Atk and +1 Def more than the original pet feet; eagle tail only +3 HP and + 5 Close Atk. Since the quite grate variation of values of same level pets there are imho only 2 items wroth the exp. The rest is fancy and fun. So, since pet is born without one I get a horn for all my pets. And although wings and their speed are less important as most players believe, I get wings for all non porting chars, that are all non aidian and aids to young for stonecastle. german Link to Talas study upon wings .
6.1. body parts
A table of all items for pets – for easier comparison and offline planning. (Body parts can be bought at NPC in Lost realm castle for pet exp, no level requirements ). I put the Exp of the items pet is born with in brackets. (You can exchange all items for 30% of their original worth)
E. g.: cost for Helmethead (the green one):
Bought Exp: 1.088.320 - 188.375 original pet head = 899.945 exp
- With each buyable item is, as far as possible, in brackets the + you get compared to the original pet item. The original pet items give the pet already +518 hp, +101 Close Atk., +85 Distant Atk., + 39 Close Def. und a speed of 3. The freshly hatched pet has Assembly Lv 17 and Req Lv 2. Loyalty and Satiety are both 0. If pet doesn’t get fed Satiety will start decreasing, till pet dies (hello AFK-Breeder). All other pet values differ for each hatched pet. (Some of the item names are just guesses and I might have guest wrong. So if I messed it up – please post the right names for a correction.)

6.2. Amulet
Above the basket is a slot for an amulet. There are two kinds of pet amulets witch increase defensive abilities. The amulet of Earth and the amulet of the Sky both out of human scientific research. Those amulets warn pet of dangers, so that it reacts immediately before taking damage. The amulet of Earth helps evade with Close combat while the amulet of the Sky helps evade magic and special attacks. In contrast to other items the amulets have level requirements.
Amulets are the production by Humans. And players can only choose which amulet to produce. The options are added automatically and differ every time. Even, there is a possibility that only one option is endowed to the amulet. At minimum one option is always added upon every production. There is no way of knowing what option the amulet got, a player has to test if one amulet is better than another. Since an amulet might break at petdeath, one should check the Pet-Information if pet has been dead.
Amulet of Earth: Req. Pet-Level 60.
Effect: Melee /physical attack evasion 20% , Special / Magic attack evasion 10%
costs: 1 Assemblykit (NPC- about 50k) + 4 Processorkit (NPC a 300) + 1 Controlkit (Wolfen in Ran 2) + 1 Cell Capsule (X-Pier Kabal in Dun 3)
Amulet of the Sky: Req. Pet-Level 80.
Effect: Melee /physical attack evasion 10% , Special / Magic attack evasion 30 %
costs: 1 Assemblykit (NPC - about 50k) + 4 Processorkit (NPC a 300) + 1 Controlkit (Wolfen in Ran 2) + 1 Cell Capsule (X-Pier Kabal in Dun 3) + 1 Antibiotic Capsule (Sickle Khan in Ran 2) + 1 Genetic Capsule (Mace Kabal in Dun 4)
6.3. Labiyong Recall Device
Labiyong Recall Device is now available at the NPC shops. With Labiyong recall device, it is possible to get dead pets back without going back to town or waiting until the resurrection time is up. Put a Labiyong Recall Device into the one of quick slots and use them. Labiyong Recall Device will guide your pet to you with the unique wavelength that only you and your pet can sense.
Before a player couldn't get his/her pet back immediately and had to wait until the resurrection time is over when their pet died in the battle. And he had to return to towns where the veterinaries' are to get his pet back. As only Vitality is recovered upon the resurrection by Labiyong Recall Device, rest of the stats have to be recovered by monitoring. Especially, every death of Labiyong will make change of the value in Royalty.
6.4. Pet produced Items
Possible with pet L 77 or higher. Players can build special items with the help of their pet and a certain amount of pet exp.
Ingredient items: Normal hyper capsule (NPC – about 5K or Gonetor in Ran 2), High-quality hyper capsule (Gonma in Ran 2)
Click on the Labiyong Researcher NPC located in Lost Realm after preparing for the required items and conditions for the production. NPC will report you about the current experiences and level of Labiyong. Click on the button for the item you wish to be produced to convert the hyper capsule to that item. No item will be produced if there isn’t enough experiences or hyper capsules.
The Info on the BF-HP are wrong, the level for def and attack amplifying capsules are mixed up. Info from Thorm in thread Hypergegenstandsproduktion. Test varified, that the NPC is correct.
Assembling Level reduces the experience consumption on production by 1% per 5 level. Assembling Level is displayed at stats window of Labiyong.
Code:

91 high-quality attacking power amplifying capsule High-quality hyper capsule 50.000
93 high-quality defence power amplifying capsule High-quality hyper capsule 70.000
7. Controlling & Action Modes
(Info from BF-HP, Rifelman's Thread TIPS for lvl 70+ pets and Maya's Thread Der Unterstützungsmodus?)
With Q or pressing Shift-key and clicking on pet opens the basket and pet menu. The below mentioned keys or symbols in the menu will give the pet a specific behaviour. The pet has 6 possible action mods. All modes exapt Disengage mode has a regeneration rate of 1/30 of max health per sec.
• Combat: key 7
Normal levelling mode for pet; gives pet much freedom in action as possible. Even though pets primary target is mob that attacks char, pet will target and follow mob in sensing range even if char is doing nothing. If there are strong mobs nearby, pet dies easily.
• Escort: key 8
Pet only attacks mob, witch char is attacking too. This mode allows safer game play in compensation for less freedom in Labiyong's action.
Use this mode to target pet at a specific mob. As soon as pet is attacking specified mob you can change to combat mode and pet will continue to attack this mob while you are already working on some other mob.
• Collect: key 9
In this mode, Labiyong collects anything lying on ground in sensing range. Labiyong concentrates on gathering this stuff without any combat activities in this mode. And if the other player has the priority of certain item, Labiyong waits until the priority is removed. Items that is collected by Labiyong are placed automatically in inventory of its owner. So players have to sometimes check out whether the inventory is full.
• Disengage: key 0
In this mode, Labiyong does not perform any activities such as combat or collect so that it can get recovered faster. Pet keeps directly behind char and regenerates 1/10 of max HP per sec. So regeneration in this mode is 3 times faster than in any other mode. Players have to keep in mind that even in this mode, nearby monsters can attack pet. Pet will not evade attack but has better defence and will take a bit less damage, so pet can be used as shield /for blocking. This mode is also used to make sure that kill is counted for char and not pet
• Support: key -
Support mode has 2 different functions.
With PvM: Pet attacks same mob as char. Char gets all exp, pet gets non. Useful during questing, when char needs the last hit, because char receives the kill together with the exp form pet. Thorm’s Post in thread Aktiv Leveln. Exemption: cursed mob itself
With PvP: Please note that even in Free PvP mode, players only can attack the opponent who also declared Free PvP mode beforehand.
Labiyong in this mode support their chars in PvP. Pet can attack players or other pet in this mode. Pet attacks the same target that the owner of it attacks, and never stops its attack until the target is killed. So players have to change the mode of Labiyong to stop its attack. Caution: pet also can be attacked by opponents or their pet during this support mode. For combat between pet and pet or char and pet: Klick on char or pet that you want to target and press STRG-key while pet is in support mode.
• Long range (Hard barrier breaking/fuzzy field removal mode): key +
With the support from Labiyong, players can fight against Neo Progmares of special attributes which have made them hard to defeat. Ability of removing special attribute of monsters consumes Labiyong's experiences. However, if the level of Labiyong is too low, this ability is not so useful due to low possibility of success and long required time.
In this mode pet has a long range attack, pet chooses similar to combat mode witch mob to target. Each attack consumes pet exp. From L 70 on pet acquires abilities of removing special attributes of monsters. Around L 70 the possibility of successful removal is low so that the attribute removal is not that easy. However, as the level goes up, the possibility increases and the delay is decreased. Higher level of abilities need more experience consumption.
During the Long range mode, pet ceases normal attack and tries to remove special attribute of monsters nearby. And in case of monsters that already lost its special attribute or when the removal is failed, corresponding damage is inflicted to the target monster instead of removing special attribute.
Code:
Ability of removing special attribute of monsters
Level Attribute Chance Required Exp Delay to the next removal (seconds)
70 Shadow 20 % 8.000 10
72 Hard Barrier 20 % 8.000 10

8. Lvlups
(from Tala’s Thread "Hausdrachenvergleich" Link)
(from Unreal32 Thread "Welches lvl geht maximal beim Pet???" Link)
Pet can be trained up to a level above 100. As soon as pets reach higher levels data for levelling cost in exp and lime will be added. Since admins can create a pet L 260, I assume that levelling pet up to such levels is possible. Exp Requirements for Pet level
Tries to create one overall formula for required lime or exp have failed till now; there seem to be several breakpoints within certain level intervals. If you are interested look for comments of Flashfunk, beathoven and NiGHTcRaWlEr link
Depending on where and how you level your pet, pet starts to pay for its lvlup around L 60.

8.2. Exp. decrease with increasing Pet level
(from Tiggy’s Thread "Exp Abzüge" Link)
Similar to the char pet receives with higher lvl less Exp for kills. So the higher lvl pet becomes, the less rewarding it gets to play against the same kind of mob. Since Braclet of Adventurer doesn’t work for exp of pet, I have listed behind pet lvl the char lvl, that lets receive a char without bracelet the same amount of exp for a kill. This lets one compare char lvl and pet lvl:
2 char lvl = 1 pet lvl.
Exp decrease starts approximately as soon as 2 x pet lvl >= mob lvl +10. For char it starts as soon as char lvl >= mob lvl +10. Exp decrease has exponential growth.
In the list are only mobs and values, that pet kills with 1-6 hits or that seem rewarding enough to me and can be blocked and killed easily by pet alone.

8.3. Pet Levelling - When, where and how?
Time and area to level pet can differ quite a lot. For AFK-ler a guideline of 1-3 Hits per kill seems good, since they need far more time to level pet and have to take into account the safety of their char and the consumption of apples. (Some AFK-ler believe 500 k exp per night for a L 40 pet to be quite good, levelling active in Dekardi without to much competition of other pets or chars would easily yield 500 k exp per hour.)
While Aktiv-levelling and/or Party-levelling 7 or more hits per Kill can be considered worth it. All that depends on ones char, char lvl and armour/def as well as values and items of pet and personal stile of playing. Especially young chars, that get a pet immediately with L 90 and which are not bulks will prefer Aktiv-levelling and/or Party-levelling in more rewarding areas, where they level themselves too. For Party-levelling pets receive a group bonus too. The more pets are linked in group through their chars, the better the bonus. A good photo of pet Party-levelling is here.
A further reference for levelling ones pet is the Exp-per-Hit-Ratio (see Exp-decreas and Close Atk rate per n Hit Ratio) and Exp-per-Time-Intervall-Ratio, which takes into account also the spawn rate of monsters and competition between chars within a given area. For more references “when to level pet where” see in Talas post in “Hausdrachenvergleich” and in the other mentioned Links (10. Links and Tips).
Tiggy made a good analysis of levelling an equipping pet up to L 60+, that I’ll quote a bit further down.
In his thread Aktiv Leveln Ryan suggests a quite different way of levelling ones pet. He believes that levelling would be achieved fastest if one lets pet leech in Shilon like some low chars will do. He asked a high level bulk to block for his pet, went in party with him and let his pet make a few bites at a Dino. Even 1 bite (best shortly before Dinos death) would give pet quite some exp. Around pet level 50 – 55 he took his pet to East Island together with someone how took care of Dark Souls. Weather this alternative really is faster for levelling pet I haven’t tried, since my chars were all around 90, when they bought their pets. And without party help a pet L 40 and below dies too easy in Shilon, so that it won’t be worth it and become too expansive.
If you are levelling in Shilon you’ll get far less lime per gained exp, compared to Dekardi. And furthermore you’ll spend more lime, because pet will eat more and you’ll need more drinks. One the other hand char and pet have to fight less mob and gain more exp in a given time; a pet about L 70 will gain about 1 Million exp per hour, a pet above L 80 a lot more TIPS for lvl 70+ pets.
And now the promised a short-version of Tiggy’s analysis about “How to level pet and what to do with the exp".
• Intorduction
Regarding Pet there are always 2 questions – Where to level? Which equipment when?
The 1. question is generally asked wrong. Almost always it is asked: “My Pet is L XY. Where should I level?” A better formulation would be: “My Pet has a Close Atk Rate XY and a Close Def YZ. Where should I level?”
The 2. question could be made more concrete, if one states weather one plans to level AFK or not. For people levelling AFK the answer is easy. Since the char is likely to stay quite soon and for a very long time at the “Hell Cobra and Dino Farms” Eaglewings are necessities. In order to make damage at all pet also needs to have a nosehorn. And since in most cases exp is senselessly thrown away anyhow, one should get Eagle head, Eagle claws, Scale body and Thorn tail. Together that juts amounts to 11,6 Mio. exp. So equipped pet is quite a sight, if L 30 and killing a Dino with already 2 Hits. Anybody levelling actively would then have a L 45 pet that would need the extraordinary number of 1 Hit per Kill. The L 45 refers to what happened with the exp and not to the Exp gained during the same amount of time – because levelling active one would have gathered at least twice as much exp. The highest Pet – Exp average Tiggy got with his L 94 Aidia is 600 k per hour. Since a L 94 Aida will have problems levelling in Shilon Tiggy hasn’t got any data on Shilon. And a L 60 pet without support of its char hasn’t got any chance in Shilon.
• Basic
Similar to the char there are 2 things of importance. The foe ought to be killed by a succession of n Hits. Whether the foe is killed by 1 or 5 hits is of little consequence. Important is only that with the last hit almost all of the Close Atk Rate/dam is used/needed. If pet leaves a mini-amount of Life, the char should to the last hit. Pet will then concentrate immediately on the next foe and won’t waste an attack. The next point is that the level of mob isn’t too much below the level of the pet. Especially with one-hit-kills one has to look out for not having overkill. L 30 pet (hello AFK’s) hasn’t got anything to gain from killing White Tigers. Pet gets like ones char less exp with higher levels. Since that decrease can be quite much one has to think carefully on buying levels or saving the exp in order to buy a few levels together later. One should only buy lvlups if the actual target mob can be killed with one hit less than before. Equipment should only be acquired, if the gain in values per spend exp is greater than one can expect from spending that amount exp in a lvlup.
• When to kill wich mob?
In order to decide witch mob to kill effectively one has to look at the Close Atk Rate. Then one looks up or tests how many hits pet will take for a certain mob. Division of number of necessary hits through gained exp gives you the exp-per-hit-ratio. You than know witch mob will give your pet the most exp per hit. After that take a look at the spawn rate in an area. The higher level the mob the more dam the mob gives to char and pet. If one has to let pet regenerate after every mob the foe is to difficult. Same is true if pet cant deal with 3 mobs at once. Then the frequent pause for regeneration of pet means loss in levelling speed. Chars that have to constantly reduce mobs so that pet and they themselves will stay alive are levelling in the wrong area and should hunt for easer pray. Otherwise pet will consume more apples; you yourself might become hectic because of constantly looking out for pet while your need to drink will increase too, other chars and pets will be robed unnecessarily of mobs and dotore will prescribe again and again a rest for witch you he chares you about 20 k.
So one needs mobs that give good exp per hit, respawn often enough so that there always will be some and that won’t do too much damage. For a L 1 pet with active levelling those factors meet when killing Crabs. You have to go over all known places. The advantage with this is, that you are near to the NPC. Should there ever be a lack of crabs you just go over to do a few Poison Scorpions till pet has used half its life. Then you put pet into disengage mode and go back to the crabs. There you change the mode back to combat and continue to exp. AFK-ler start with White Tigers. Whether they buy the lvlups as soon as they gathered the first 50 k or continue collecting exp till they can buy the wished equipment is of little consequence. White Tigers have a high enough spawn rate, that pet will kill all in sight even though it still needs 2 hits. Only right at the beginning before buying the first. few levels one has to be careful. One has to watch out for Japan Bug and Ghost Mob-Bug though. Aidian and Kaili under L 120 shouldn’t play AFK. If they put on BK stuff things might be different though – but with that I haven’t got any experience.
Between L 5 to 10 pet reaches a Close Atk. Rate that gives 1 hit kills with White Tigers. Since that means 80 exp per hit, one should go immediately there. No rule without exemption. From the point of 1 hit kills with Tigers it will happen more and more often, that pet has ridden the area of all foes and hasn’t got anything to do. Therefore one should go to do Poison Scorpions as soon as pet reaches a Close Atk. Rate of 190. They give a little less exp per hit but with herding properly pet will always have something to do. (For all that played Diablo2 – herding for pet is similar to the Amazon herding so her BU is more effective.) Of course one has to be very careful how pet is performing and even Aidians need to block sometimes for their pets. Even so this way of levelling is a bit more expansive the exp speed will be better. As soon as pet has more than 1 k life one can go to Chmeros. For everyone levelling his/her pet there, show some consideration of lows, don’t bark at them even if they take some kills away from your pet. You don’t have anything to do there, the lows have! E. G. the quest “Chmeromutant – Lvl 28-40; Exp 3110; Lme 125; cursed Chmero”. Your are upset too, if someone kills your quest mob. And if the correlation of pet lvl x 2 = Char lvl is correct, that means lvl 40 or more. And with lvl 40 even Aidians are standing their own against Chmeros. Whereto and when you change levelling area after Chmeros everyone has to decide for hinmself7herself.My first steps thereafter are Grems (on the way to Dun), Pro Giants (in the East) Brain Warriors (in the West and East), Pro Giants and Brain Warriors (in the East), TR/KR.
• When to get witch equipment?
With equipment there is only 1 thing, one can’t do without. This is a horn. For every non teleporting chars fast wings are very nice. And Since AFK-ler are always competing with other AFK-ler (Farm) the fastest wings (Eagle) are a must have. With dragon wings it could be possible, that pet would get any kill if there are 5 or more pets. Fore everybody else you should get scale or dragon wings after levelling at chmeros. For wings only the speed seems important. If pet is faster at a mob levelling becomes easier because always waiting for pet is over. Not considering questions of stile there is for the horn only an either or, Delta Horn or Nose Horn. Delta Horn is relatively cheap (600k Exp/44 Close Atk.), Nose Horn makes more dam (70) and uses far more exp (3,8 Mio.). After L 30 saving for Delta Horn becomes interesting, because the horn gives more life and dam than can be achieved with lvlups. From L 47 on one can think on changing to a Nose Horn. Even if you plan from beginning to get your pet a Nose Horn, the temporary use of a Delta Horn is an option.
A body is nice to have. The bonus on life isn’t worth it since every lvlup gains more life. But the Close Def of the Scale Body is useful. Until the 28 k exp become unimportant to you, you should do without it. Imho from L 47 on the Scale Body is worth a thought, because then the relation of life to exp start going to the body.
Claws are really superfluous. For one of my pet I took them without thought, because everybody said they were good. (********). For my Aidia I took them at L 58 because about 5% of the TRs needed 4 hits and I was tired of always watching out whether the TR fell over after 3 hits or not and I had to level the pet quickly. My 3 other chars won’t get any claws. The Pet Feet look much nicer.
Heads have 2 interesting bonuses, Life and Close Atk. The lifebonus is so little that it isn’t taken into account as deciding factor. So lets look upon the Close Atk Rate. The so highly regarded Close Atk Rate of Eagle head isn’t worth it. The thing needs 1 Mio. Exp. That equals up to the amount of exp needed for L 47. At that lvl you get about the same amount of Close Atk Rate with a lvlup. So only the Distant Def witch isn’t raised with lvlup comes into consideration. That would leave Dug Head or Dragon Head. But Distant Def only becomes useful when you are playing in Shilon or Paros and want to remove special attributes of Mobs (Long Range Mode). Until then the head is only a question of stile.
So the last thing to look at is the tail. I will not speak of Eagle or Fork Tail, every lvlup gains more. Compared against lvlup the Thorn Tail looses too, because lvlup gives in addition more def and life. For the middleclass tails the bonuses from lvlup are every time better and include def bonus.
Summary: So only a horn brings an advantage and wings make playing more pleasant without any else important.
9. Comparison of Pet - Values
(see Talas Thread "Hausdrachenvergleich")
With items pet has values in front of brackets. Value within brackets is deciding factor, it gives the base values of pet.
Number after + or – is unimportant for comparison, it’s the bonus for loyalty
• Improvement of values at Lvlup
With Lvlup pet gets a chance improvement within a value range dependant on level. The following values are improved: Vitality, Close Atk., Distant Atk. and Close Def. Distant Def is only improved by items. The improvement is totally by chance an can not be influenced by player. The higher the lvl of pet, the better the possible improvements. (This refers to the absolute values, not to percentages). The percentage improvements are between 0,70 to 39,00 % per Value. The highest increase is given to vitality within the first 20 lvls, thereafter the percentage improvements of the different values are more similar. The trend goes to an improvement of less than 10% after lvl 25 and less at higher levels.
The rumours of better lvlups at loyalty 20 are untrue. I tested upping with the same char (char wasn’t levelling himself during test) for pets with nearly identical start values from L 1 – 20. The first pet was upped at loyalty 20. I then changed the pet against a new egg, hatched it and upped the 2. pet with loyalty 10-14. The 2. pet had far better values at L 20, so I kept it. (I didn’t test with negative loyalty.).
• Start Values
Die starting values after hatching vary quite a lot:
Code:
HP : 64 - 192
Close Atk: 12 - 36
Distant Atk: 6 - 18
Close Def: 12 - 32
Distant Def: 2 - 10
If this variety after hatching is normal or can be influenced isn’t clear yet. Possible influences could be: Which char race did the breeding? Was breeding done AFK or not? Was breeding repeated? Has char ripped while breeding and if yes then how often? It might be better to provoke multiple char rips if hatched pet gets better values then, eaven if that means lengthening the breeding time.
9.1. Values Table
The following values table consist just of values of my own pets and pets listed in the „Hausdrachenvergleich“. Till now I have just take pet values till L 81, because that’s all I have got.
Because the tables has grown to big to post (at least I don’t know how to) I give you just a summery with min, max and average values and number of test candidates for all levels. If anybody wants to have the howl table, please give me your mail address and I’ll send you the works attachment.
