Re: beta (?) mmorpg - chinese setting (for the mir likers)
well im lvl 8 now, so far it's pretty fun but i dont know for how long o.O
The controls are a bit annoying but once youve set autoattack and auto pickup and stuff life gets easier
Re: beta (?) mmorpg - chinese setting (for the mir likers)
That looks like a hell of an in-depth game with a lot of things possible.
Will work with Harv on getting a forum section set up for this and gallery section and will make sure it's included in the up coming MMORPG section too...
Will try and get a bit of play myself, but that aint gonna be till next week for me as i'm doing the upgrade preparations at the moment.
Re: beta (?) mmorpg - chinese setting (for the mir likers)
Shame it's Chinese, my trust in the East to make a quality MMORPG has sadly, disapeared.
It's all about the West now, although hopefully once the Koreans / Chinese realise there is more to an online game than a level grind, I may take another look.

Wonders why.....
Oh that's right... Now I remember...
I still say Mir 2 was a great game in it's time though and that it was certain people involved with GN at the time that screwed that up and not Wemade.
I'll be very surprised if Wemade ever trust another western company with one of their products now though, that thing about once bitten twice shy, well those poor people in Korea have managed to be bitten twice.

It's past experiences really, and as of late i've been doing a lot of research for a project im working on atm, one part of the research I wanted to do was take a look at the online world and see what was needed from a game to make it sucessful.
As I went down my eventual list it was fairly obvious that I had listed the plus points of all the top games out there today, with 90% of them being developed by western companies.
Like I said, I wont touch another online game from the East, unless I know the company behind it has some experience. The only games on my list to play (MMORPG wise) are: LoTR Online, D&D, says a lot really doesn't it? But having said that, I probably wont stop playing WoW until Diablo Online is released, oops
Re: beta (?) mmorpg - chinese setting (for the mir likers)
Well this game has a definate linage 2 feel to it in way of control. Its fairly complex with the skill aquirements and leveling is a two stage affair in you level to get higher level ( obvious ) but you also level to increase your skill points.
The map system is nice ( once you figure it out ) and the geography is fairly big although i havent explored too much of it yet.
I reached almost level 9 so far and want to reach 10 so I can buy me one of them horses that keep galloping all over the place.
The quest system needs a bit of polish. It seems ok at first with the map helping identify the key NPC you need to talk to and a little scroll appearing above there heads. But when you start getting into it it gives you quests by NPC name and general area and then you have to search around.
The biggest gripe has to be how big the world is compared to the speed you can run. It takes ages just to run round the start town never mind find the monsters outside the gates. If your looking to run between NPC's fast then this is not your game.
I have taken lots of screenshots and have downloaded guide infor so will setup a section in the mmorpg part of TF shortley to let you get a bit more detailed info.
One other small gripe is the fact that ( at least with my GC ) the buttons when logging in are completly blank. so its a bit of press and guess to start with.
Also the language translation leaves something to be desired ( one of the NPC's swears at you in a quest dialog ) but its good enough that you can almost work everything out.
One I did notice that was a bit of a bind was a quest said hunt x mob and its actual name was y. Until I accidently killed one and it raked up a kill for the quest I hd no idea what I should be killing.
so far tho if it gets better then it should be a fair game.
I think the game is p2p in wherever it comes from as they sell game cards for it but as yet its still in free open beta here.

None atm, i'm waiting for expansion details and everything. Although I may end up playing on the North American servers now, as they are closer to me, but Europe is easier on the time zone difference.
I can see a Diablo online being very possible, we'll just have to wait for:
Warcraft IV
WoW Expansion (can almost tick this one of the list)
Starcraft Ghost
Starcraft next gen
Diablo III
As far as I see it, a Diablo game of the MMORPG variety wont arrive until atleast the majority of them have reached the shelves.

Have you read the "leaked" patch info for the new wow expansion? it comes with a screenshot of a foreign magizine with details of the expansion!:O It looks nice if that is actually gonna be in the new expansion.

Yeah, but its fake
To many things don't add up in it, for example the Blood Elves can not be allied with the Horde for they are allied with Illidan, so lore wise it would ruin everything unless they made Illidan side with the Horde, which would be a tad unfair
There's to many things in there that go against the grain of things, all though having said that, bet its real now just to spite me.
Some of the features are nice, i'd love to go to Midvh's tower simply because of the story behind it (I've read all the Warcraft books, so I have the advantage of knowing certain things )
I'm sure some of things that appeared in the Italian magazine will be in the expansion (level cap raised etc) but i'd be dissapointed if what was listed was that official list.
