Theres no proper date for it atm, the shops fill in the date they expect stock will most likely come in, the release date hasn't been announced yet as there still working very hard on the game itself.

You're definately not the only one looking forward to it. I thought the first one was a great game, although I bought it only recently (being about 6 months ago, recently compared to its release date lol) and had played better looking and feeling games before it. Hopefully HL2 will bridge the gap between the first one and today's standards of graphics and gameplay

hmm Half-Life 2, isnt that the game that was spose 2 be almost a year ago? but there was a hacking and they said thye will relase it at december, and now its late summer. And the only thing that Valve had 2 change due to the hacking was the Client to stop cheating, kinda taking a long time just to create a new clinet imo.

o_O Well thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated =) because i had heard late september myself i just wasnt sure.
As for the problem, the source code was leaked and part of the incomplete game last year as the release date was originally towards the end of last year, instead of releasin valve put the game on hold, caught those responsible, re-coded the game? but at the same time revised the client and graphics, physics etc... and not to mention they have had there hands full with makin sure counter-strike:source runnin off the hl2 engine that comes with hl2 runs smooth and isnt as buggy as CZ when that came out =)
Me for one have been anticipating hl2 ever since i played the original, including blue shift and the other one lol ( cant remember name ) but if you ever bought CZ you would have got a cd full of hl2 vids/previews and :shiny1:
need i say anymore =)

Apparently they released the HL2 script with a beta version of Counter Strike 2 by accident... so valve has screwed up even more.

People are prediciting late september because that's when it was supposed to be released last year.

Personally I can't see it coming out before october/november. If it's delayed into 2005 i wouldn't expect it untill next summer.

In short don't hold your breath.
