ok i just got empire total war for my pc and first time i played it it kept crashing regular
looked on various forums and it seems to be a common problem, but i will persevere until a patch come out (hopefully)
now i have a problem with steam, it keeps saying "game unavailable" WTF??
this is a offline game that i have bought, why the feck would it be unavailable?
then i remembered i had a problem with steam when i played half life 2, why the feck would they release a game that is clearly broken and use a system that is cleary shite to launch said game?
as it is a pc game i am not entitled to a refund so i cant take the fekker back ><
but what i have played so far i have really liked.
its just the steam crap thats pissing me off, so im gonna try and avoid steam games in the future.
I know loads of people who've never had a problem with Steam...
Yup, hearing all kinds of horror stories about this kind of thing happening at the moment.
At the same time, there are other games with other companies that require download game patching and the likes having similar problems, one such game being Sacred 2, where the parent company has gone out of business and people are having problems patching the game and a lot of people are being told they'll have to buy a new game key if they want to continue playing the game, as the existing game key has ceased functioning.
Sadly this kind of thing seems to be considered acceptable within the gaming industry and the biggest tragedy at the moment, is because the industry is still fairly young, a hell of a lot of the protocols and policies that should be in place to protect the consumer, are still largely missing, so people are being screwed over left right and center.
its weird cos after reading stuff on various forums i reinstalled the game in c>programme files>empire as apose to c>programme filesx86>empire and i have not had a problem since
I don't have much experience with STEAM, the only game I have that uses it is football Manager 2009. The part I like about it, is that I don't need to have the CD in my drive anymore
I do get frustrated though with the current security they place on games though... ok they want less piracy, but go back 10 years and you will find the solution where you get a nice box with gadgets next to the cd for the game. Offcourse some games could also do with some more and better content... paying 60 euro for a game which you can finish in a few hours.... that's just crazy.
