We want this too, Iv been hinting to Rob that it would be nice for him to buy it for the family for christmas lol it willl be interesting to see if Rob can play the game as hes a fantastic guitar player I bet he cant hehe
I'm keeping up with hard on GH2 quite alright now just get my frets mixed up sometimes.
Also I do advise GH2 before GH3. The GH2 experience is so much more solid tbh and the notes don't lag. The wireless guitar is a good investment though, for convenienve and because the les paul is a better shape than the x-plorer.
The Rock Band stratocaster looks better than both of them though.

One of my mates claims that the better you are at a song on an actual guitar, the worse you'll play it on GH. Personally, I reckon that's rubbish (especially with GH3 if they're expecting people to tap)...
I keep going back to GH 1 to knock out a few songs and try and get a bit further in the game but will be playing GH on ps3 at chrissy so it should be great fun again
I wouldnt say you need to be a good guitar player to play GH and likewise wouldn't think being good at guitar would make you a bad GH player. Its a different set of skills and is more about being able to do combo's like on the dance mats than actually match chords.
The only advantage guitarists have is that their fingers can stretch over 5 frets more easily and still be responsive. Other than that its just a motor/coordination test.
I definitely do better on songs i know, but real guitar and guitar hero dont really relate. You can even kick ass at guitar hero with the sound off, just by watching the colours and patterns

I don't know actually. I knew this guys who is a brilliant guitarist but just couldn't get the hang of GH. They really are two different kinds of experience, being good at one doesn't mean your good on another.
I like playing Guitar Hero but I found the third one to be a lot more difficult, requiring more skill to hit the some of the difficult.

He took to it like a duck to water, he found easy to hard cos the songs where too slow lol
but im having trouble with the difference between easy and medium
it seems too big a leap, i guess my fingers are too fat lol.
You do get used to it, just takes time.
I've had it since release and I can cope fairly well on hard difficulty now so it just takes practice.
Don't feel too bad either as my brother in law who has been a guitarist for many many years struggled with Guitar Hero. Just takes time.
