Codemasters Online announce popular MMORPG RF Online is now available for free download with no monthly subscriptions across Europe and North America.

Wednesday, 17th October (2pm GMT) – Codemasters Online is pleased to announce that RF Online is now a completely free-to-play MMORPG with the full game now available for download with no monthly subscription required.

RF Online is an epic mix of traditional fantasy and futuristic Sci-Fi set in the deep space galaxy of Novus where three races compete in an ultimate struggle for power and resource. Another game from code masters!! I had a go at this one when it first came out, it was fun for a while but nothing exciting to keep you in the game. I don't know if anything has changed from then.

Its a really good game, just very grindy and very Korean. I think the only reason i quit was because Mir sucked me back in with an event or something. I still have a screenshot of my name on the rankings page at 70 something, which i was quite proud of ^_^.

what did it play like?
I've recently purchased 3 new games, and I have 5 more coming next week, and another one in November... I don't have time for MMOs... I suppose I don't even have time for games since I'm in my final year of uni and need to work on my work and project =s

Well as I recall it was very grindy and laggy when i last played it, the quests made everyone go to the same area and fight over a few mobs and they just appeared out of thin air as the distance you could see was about half the distance of the scenery so you were running into things all the time. It got Botted and exploited to hell too but they probably fixed that if it has gone gold

There are I think a lot better offerings out there with the same "pay for items not time" MMORPG's now which are much better done.
