I know its a bit daft BUT, after deciding to get an xbox 360 for the family for christmas. Yes I know I was gonna get a wii but changed my mind cos the games the kids have asked for are not available. I do have one prob though, I have girls as well as boys and they are girly girls (17 and 11 year old)!! What games are out their that you guys think are girly? I wouldn't say Im that girly when it comes to the games I play and the films I watch so any help would be great:dbanana:.
Yeah, Viva Pinata is a good one and Viva Pinata Party Animals will be out before Christmas as well.
Other than that, Scene It looks fairly decent, maybe Rock Band if they like singing or playing instruments?
Kameo, Crash of the Titans, Tomb Raider?
You also have the Pink controllers as someone mentioned and a very big selection of Xbox Live Arcade games where stuff like Lumines, Hexic or even the Sonic the Hedgehog games might appeal?
One of them does the other would if there was something to spark her interest and seen as its a gift for all the family she needs includeing.
I like the look of the pinata games I can see that one apealing to Amy (11) as well as luke (8). Oh Tomb Raider is on my list any how as me and Emma (17) love that one.
Girly = cute, fun and not all shooting things!!
Thanks for your imput guys.
Oh yeah as any one tried the CSI games? I love CSI, seen the board game too which is on my christmas list for the older kids
Personally I'd say sod the kids demands and go with getting a Wii. You don't need to look much further than the family fun ones such as:
Wii Sports
Rayman Raving Rabbids
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Mario Party 8
Guitar Hero III
Carnival Funfair Games
They wouldn't just keep the girls happy but the whole family.
A few other titles the girls especially may go for:
Cooking Mama
Super Paper Mario
My Sims
Boogie
Big Brain academy
Bust A Move
The Sims 2 Pets
Then there are several really good lads fighting and hardcore style games out there already and plenty more to follow...
In my opinion, as a family entertainment device, you'd get a damn sight more fun out of a Wii than a XBox360, I also think the XBox is much more of a hardcore gamer device than a family fun device.
What Det said..
The wii would be a right laugh at your house hun. Imagine the parties watching Harv and Whimp cow racing lol!! Honest hun, me and harv were thinking between an Xbox and a wii and for the kids we opted for the wii. A lot more family orientated. (not that they get much of a look in )
We did think about getting them a wii but put it to the family vote and the xbox won!! Mind you I may just wait till after christmas and see whats going for sale on ebay, all those spoit kids that dont want theres any more, I could happly find an home for one hehe.
I'd recommend Viva Pinata and Kameo, as already mentioned. However, i would say the 360 doesn't really offer all that much for the younger audience nevermind, reducing that demographic even smaller to a younger female audience. Banjo's coming next year...when i was younger i only ever really played Platform or RPG games. But they might not really get into RPG's these days, they're a lot more complex and stat heavy than they used to be. Eternal Sonata might appeal to them...it's hard to say really. I will agree with Majin, i certainly never filled the pink dress and curlers stereotype, so its hard to say. In all honesty i don't think a great deal will appeal. The great thing about Live however, is the demo's, so if in doubt download a demo of something and let them try it.
I would probably also take into consideration Det's advice. I would try and get a Wii as well, its not all that expensive, and i would think its more of a family orientated console. By the end of the year there will without a doubt be a huge range of games to suit at least someone in your family. Including Super Mario Galaxy ^_^.
