I was wondering, do you have any phrases in english, used to test the english ability of foreigners? Phrases which are funny when messed up, but at the same time educational? Teaching you certain aspects of the english language like hard and soft consonants and vowels, stuff like that.
I was wondering, cause in danish we have a phrase(overly used to mock foreigners/immigrants):
Rød grød med fløde.
It teaches the soft "ø" sound, as well as some soft consonants. When foreigners try to say it, they usually pronounce it like:
Røl grøl med flølle
Pronouncing the "ø" sound in it's hard form, as well as not being able to pronounce the soft consonants. By training that phrase(and getting it right), foreigners increase their danish ability dramatically.
So, do you have something similar? Something simple, yet effective?
She sells sea shells on the sea shore not something i personally say to confuse foreigners, not that i do it anyway. But i spose it would be hard to say if you cant speak english very well o_O

I like those "she sells sea shells.." and "peter piper picked..." phrases. Seems more like "tongue twister" phrases though.
Ain't got any phrases most foreigners will mess up, even if they have five minutes per word to get em right?
I can't think of any but something that uses 'th' a lot would work well as non-native english speakers usually find the 'th' pronunciation hard. I know of some good Italian ones for making the rolled 'r' sound but that ain't much use here
how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood
lol im great at that. Me and my little brother used to go on for hoouurrsss with that constantly on car journies with it getting longer and faster each time. Drove our parents insane
We've got 'I before E except after C'. But of course there are always exceptions to the rule like their - cant think of a i before e after a c yet but there are some......how fascinating the english language is...
