Omg, that's sooo funny. I wonder how many people worked for (years?) to come up with this word list.
It's not funny in the least, just shows how sloppy and basically dopey the public really are - it's our fault for letting them get away with it. Remember, if you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. Try taking some real ownership of these issues instead of just moaning. Have you contacted your local council and asked them what they intend to do about this problem ? No ? Then put up with it.

Lippo is from Finland, his country isn't screwed up like this one, so why shouldn't he find it amusing that so much in this country is laughable.
But for the record, it's not the modern generations fault that this country is screwed up (albeit it's not getting any better), it's the previous generations, for allowing it to get this way in the first place.

Apologies to LippoW. Finland is a small country with a population approximately that of Scotland. We are dealing with something quite different. Reference to past generations is fair enough but does not contain anything for solving these problems. Oddly enough, I have no political motivation, don't trust any of them.

There are people out there getting paid the equivalent of the national profit of a small country, to solve this countries problems, who instead are wasting their time compiling lists of words that should not dare to be uttered, so, so long as that is the case and it is they getting paid to do such things and not me, I'll spend the minimum possible time worrying about their actions and the most possible time I can trying to earn my own wages.

I dont see the point in shifting blame away from the idiots who come up with this stuff to other idiots who have very little control over it.
its the people that come up with it are to blame. presumably someone somewhere is suposed to be overseeing it.
this idea of its the rest of the nation thats to blame for our politicians mistakes is ludicrous, all it does is alow them to say oh wel its not my fault it all went wrong you elected me lol!

I dont know that its entirely a stupid idea, a waste of time and money maybe. Theyre not so much trying to ban words for some random overly beurocratic whim, but working to make councils more transparent and understandable.
There *is* imo a huge problem with politics in this country being far too complicated for people who are either a) lesser than average intelligence or b) unenthused to learn about it, and all in all theres obviously a grey scale of how much people do or dont understand. These are the same people who are supposed to vote both in local and general elections, most of whom when asked pick people for what are imo irrelevant ideas because their political or economical knowledge isnt good enough to make a proper informed choice.
Most friends of my age group dont bother voting at all because they perceive that theres no point in it or it wont really affect them much, or they dont understand it enough or care to understand it. Of the few that do, in general elections they vote for a prime minister by his appearance mostly rather than policies etc and in locals they can base it on anything from the address of the candidate, the sirname or something random.
Im kinda heading off topic somewhat now, but the whole government/political system needs transparency, basic UK politics/economics should be taught in schools and the system needs an overhaul. When you look at the swiss and their ability to have people vote on issues, im not sure how well that works but i really cant imagine it working here.
Also with the current internet music charts abuse from Facebook, how long will it be before someone manages to convince loads of young people to vote for a random idiot party for a laugh?

Well they had that department who are responsible for making sure all government publications are available in braille, large print and audio tapes for the disabled. Theres probably a bigger demand for people who need it translated into bite sized eastenders chunks

We have our problems here too, but the scale is a bit different in 5.2M population country.
For example government set up a committee paid by tax payers to find out where the profits from rising food prices are going. Then the minister in charge of the committee says the committee has investigated and found out where the profit is going. Then she told to media she isn't going to tell (nor the committee members) who's profiting from the food price rise.
Then there's tobacco law suggestions beyond normal comprehension like putting cigarette boxes 'under the counter' and customers are provided only a text list of available goods.
Unconstitutional child porn filter law. The list of blocked sites is confidential, which is against Finland's constitution about government (secret) censorship. I'm pro-pedo-filters, but the list must be open. Also once a site gets on the list it hasn't got any legal way to dispute it's ban.
Copyright laws are customized with copyright organizations to serve their best interest (profit). They didn't even think about customer right to own something immaterial.

I can't recall that bit It was probably whilst I was rooting for tv snax, or turning off the lights at the other end of the room because they are reflecting off the screen etc etc, I never get to sit down until the management is in TV comfort mode, which is usually 4 or 5 mins into a dvd
