Or at least our own homemade versions anyway. It's fairly simple and cheap to achieve and in the long run would save you a fair amount if you have advent calenders every year, like we do.
The best bit, is that for 24 days leading up to Christmas you get to be as inventive with the daily treat as you want, instead of being stuck with a stupid picture or out of date chocolate.
@Skittles Vodka: You can make loads of different combinations with the flavours, but more than 1-2 at once seems nasty. I wouldnt go for drinking much of it though, i dont really like the stuff and it has this weird chemical grease thing on the glass and your mouth, like as if youve smeared he inside of your mouth with vasiline.
Making your own presents probably isnt something id do as its more effort less money which is the wrong balance for me
I used to do it at school, when I never had any money really A few other friends did it too.
We would go to the art store or somewhere and buy loads of glass and plastic beads and elastic, and I could make like 20 bracelets for a tenner. Then give them out as little presents to our friends.
My mum does home-made cards, has done for years, although I doubt it's saved her any money. She has a whole room full of little drawers full of card making stuff lol. Although her cards are awesome, I've had some great ones, even with musical bits and popups
I like vodka jelly Tried to set it once with cocktail sticks in so you could just pick up little cubes of the stuff and eat them... didn't work >.>
Why not post instructions
try those floppy rubber ice cube trays.Once they are set just bend them out, they'd probably stay in place. You can get all sorts of cool shapes as well.

My girlfriend does home-made cards. She's quite good at it as well
