iPhone/iPod touch apps
Ok so iPhone and iPod touch have been out a while and there are myriad games and applications out for them now, so I thought I would mention some. In case someone wants to know which ones to get, or just wants to know more about what these little toys can do. A lot is the answer.
So some games, do you like games? I expect you do since you are reading TF.
Some of the best so far are Star Wars-TheForceUnleashed. Spore, Bomberman, MonkeyBall, CrashBandicoot, SouthPark, ErnieElsGolf, StoneofDestiny, GTSWorldRacing, Galcon, RealSoccer09, BillyFrontier, Bugdom2 plus literally hundreds of poker, pool, sudoku, crossword, scrabble type things, many of which allow you to play online.
Most of these cost a couple of quid each, but if you spend a few hours looking up something called an internets, you can find them free.
Games are fine but what about actual useful stuff?
Well there is allsorts really, apps for IM chats like MSN, AOL all the big ones. Apps to check flights at airports (good for terrorists), view CCTV cameras, track deliveries, StarMap knows where you are and points out constellations and planets etc for you, online radio stations, Ebay/Facebook/Google/Wikipedia etc all have their own apps. Sports results, news readers, recipes for meals, traffic info, wireless access to your desktop from anywhere.
If you do go down the 'unlocking' route you get plenty other stuff too to customise all your wallpaper and icons etc, plus many more apps which iTunes reject like alternative podcatchers and access to settings which are normally hidden.
I actually started this post intending to review apps individually, but I can't really because there are too many awesome ones. Not to mention the 10,000 odd crap ones I didn't mention.
If anyone wants to know about a particular application then just ask because I probably have it, and if not can easily get it.
Only about 10% are actually loaded into the thing because of all the crap ones and also space issues which is surprising because I got the 32gig model.
