dunno, if i had married sash younger when I was fitter than i am now maybe I could have done something like that. I did used to know how to do most of the dirty dancing steps. I would probably collapse half way through the first lift these days tho ><
I guess its fairly romantic but is too staged to have been truly romantic. If it had been instantaneous then yeah but they had it planned so was more showy to guests than romantic for me.
I agree with Harv to an extent, if it had been a completely natural event and not some kind of staged attention seeking freak show, then I would have said it was very romantic and pleasent to watch, but seeing as I saw it as some kind of completely overhyped attention seeking puke fest, then, i'm afraid to say that there is about as much romance there as in the last nose hair filled snot that I pulled from my nose.
ahh you guys are such cynics, ok there is the element of staged and practiced and all that, but hey, if its for the moment then why not.
Personally, i would love to learn a dead romantic dance. my ex used to say i wasnt romantic, but she had no idea, i mean if setting up a room in a top class hotel and arranging her favourite flowers and rose petals covering the bed for when she walked in, and then a meal made by the Queens chef isnt romantic then what is?
True it is a bit of a puke fest but hey with the cost of weddings nowadays they might as well do something for it.
Please dont all start having a go at me, im a red blooded emotional half italian.
It's not just for the moment though with that couple, it's about bragging rights, showing off and getting one over on peers, it's a typical stereotypical do anything possible to get on TV type and have the 15 minutes of fame type stunt.
In fact i'm surprised they didn't have sponsors on the back of their outfits.
Nothing wrong with some good old fashioned chivalry and romance, but what I witnessed in that video clip is anything but.

i suppose so, but then thats what weddings are all about, its always about "how can we be better than our (borther, sisters, cousins) wedding"
But then dude, ur not a soppy old romantic are ya, lol.
I saw that on the tv I thought it was sooo sweet. I wish me and andy could have done something like that. We got to be mushy last year on our 10th wedding anneversry where we did a vow renewel in front of all our close friends...
The plan was to do it in the garden under the plumb tree but it was too wet last year to do that so we did it in the room instead... it was ace.. ask sash and harv.
it was possibly the worst flashback to an awful film ive ever seen....
dont get me wrong, romance DEFINATLY isnt dead with me, and chivalry is always good, but, to be perfectly honest, dirty dancing was one of the worst purile girl only films i have ever seen.
now thats out of my system, the dance was pretty good, but i agree about it being totally staged.
yes weddings are on about putting on a better time than your brother/sisters/parents weddings, but, not to that extent, it just looked like a cheesy advert to me (prepare for Dirty Dancing 2 : Dance Dirtier)

It was beautiful hunny
Can't help being a soppy moo, but I love all that stuff. Still love snogging in the middle of town, or holding hands and pinching his bum in the supermarket. Shows the kids mum and dad love each other too, which makes them happy and us happy.
Oh dear, you wouldnt catch me doing all that crap.
I think that bloke has shit on all us blokes, now my mrs is gna be on at me about learning to dance like that for when we get married (many moons yet i hope).

ahhhhh Sash, i try and be romantic with Dawn, but, she hates public displays of affection.... which is quite cool coz it means i dont have to show my soft side

My daughter is renewing her vows next May on her 20th anniversary full works this time. Church in the village, choir and bells not a recording of bells either lol guess who's footing the bill for them. Think that's as mushy as she'll get though she's not a mushy person but hey she might suprise us all
aww that is sooo sweet. We didnt get married at church, it was register office so we made our own thing up.
I hope your daugher and her husband have as good as time as me and andy did. It ment a lot to us to publicly decare our feelings to the depth we did! AND it defenatly brought us closer.
I Love all the mushy stuff. We still kiss in public and hold hands, Im always nipping or feeling andys bum lol hes got a good bum!! especialy for 40!
