I mean HOW THE HELL can you patent a method of swinging on a bloody swing? How stupid is that?
Also read another thing about a guy whos patented playing solitaire and other card games on a computer, hes been going around demanding that anyone with a website that has card games to play on must remove them and pay him damages!
The problem is that if you dont have the money to defend yourself, even if it is a patently stupid patent then you have to give in.
At the moment most big companies and corperations are taking patents out on the most stupid and trivial things and small companies or independant inventors are increasingly becoming unable to operate because they can't afford to defend themselve against stupid patent suits.
some more stupid patents for you, all filed in the good ol' US of A
lol i love America, their stupidity never ceases to amaze me. In one place in America, it's illegal to eat peanuts whilst walking backwards at a concert. They made it illegal because someone choked on one once...if every country did that, nothing would be legal.
Tony Blair: Oh my! A man got run down by a car when it spun out of control and ploughed over the pavement.
Mp's: Make walking on the pavement illegal unless you're wearing 3ft thick sponge.
Tony Blair: Great idea, wtefhh!?111?111 2bense no lukc3!11111
I agree with patents on some things, like great inventions and things. Software patents i absolutely detest, since people patent the most simplest things that most people would have to implement in their code/website
Anyone else heard of the guy who invented the everlasting lightbulb? don't know where to look on web to find this but from what I remember being told he wasn't allowed to patent it and was paid money to hand over the blueprint and it was detroyed.

yea i heard about that, some lightbulb companies payed the man a few mill to be quiet and hand over the patent to them so that they could go on selling lightbulbs that break over time.
I heard that its possible to make most things last alot longer. They can make cars that hardly corrode and engines that last alot longer than normal. The reason they don't is cos they would never sell any more cars. In some ways its good that they break because the world would get boring with the same cars etc. forever, Lightbulbs can **** off though they should make them everlasting ffs.
Making anything everlasting would be sheer stupidity. Look at it froma business point of view & not a temporary practical(temporary , as the long term effects of a string of everlasting objects would cause massive long term damage).
Business cant afford to make ever lasting products as its suicide. Like BMW's these days , the old type of BM's could do 250,000 mile with 1-2 part changes through its life time , now ur lucky for 60,000. Its just good business

Well you need a world that doesn't revolve around the needs of the large businesses who make these goods. The only real objection to making some products everlasting is that they would never move on and life would get boring, I dont think lightbulbs fall into this category. If you want to keep using up the earths precious resources and filling up landfill sites with billions of tons of junk, polluting the atmosphere with CFCs released from old broken fridges and air conditioning units, and you want to keep linng the pockets of big businesses who lie to you and take your money then go for it

Glad I'm not alone on that one lol but I've noticed over the years lightbulbs definately don't last as long as they used to these day. Going back to my childhood I remember going to my Grans in Wales when one blew she hadn't a clue which shop to go to for another it had lasted a fair while, same with my mum not often she had to change one but me I'm forever buying the flaming things seems as if one pops the others pop in sympathy lol
