Imagine... A nasty alien species is attacking Earth and they decide that we have far too much entertainment choice available, so, in a cruel and ruthless move they decide they will remove two from our three main choices of movies, music and games, of course with the evil twist of leaving us to decide which one of the three to keep... So... Which do you choose to keep and why?

hmmm not sure really but I think i would cheat and say games as then you could listen to music within the games and watch the scene cuts to enjoy visual entertainment.
Its a bit of a impossible question as the 3 areas arent entirely exclusive. Like if you pick movies, your movies wouldnt have any musical score - and of course no musicals like that ghey abba movie Your music wouldnt have music videos and your games wouldnt be allowed music or pre-rendered cut scenes.
Regardless though id choose games with music a close second. Even though i love music i could live without it and some radio shows would still be good entertainment without music. The majority of movies are awful and totally uninspiring etc anyway so i dont think id miss not watching them, add in television shows and it becomes a little closer. Overall though i enjoy games more.
Music for me, I think I would honestly die without it, I have to have my earphone on full blast in the morning to keep me awake on the train, and it's the same coming home from a evening shift too. Also it makes tidying up a lot more bearable.
Plus if I'm ever feeling down then playing music always cheers me up.
I don't listen to music so it was between games and movies for me. I spend more time playing games, but I think a good film is one of the most rewarding experiences available, so I chose films or movies because the high-points are far more thought-provoking and moving than any game or shitty pop music song can ever be.
Music.
Movies and games (assuming you're talking about computer games) are fairly recent inventions, and people have gotten along pretty well without them for a long time. Hell, a lot of people still don't play games (they're missing out!)
But music has been around for such a long time, it has such a long history. There are so many beautiful pieces of music that I would hate to be lost to the world forever. To have a world without music, would limit freedom of expression. People have used music for many reasons, it's therapeutic, it can strike fear into enemies, it can cut right to your soul.
There have been revolutionary musicians that have brought whole communities of people, and been able to articulate in song what's been unable to be said in words. It's helped people to stand up for their rights.
Think about people like Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, Rage against the Machine, even Marilyn Manson. And that's just a few examples from the top of my head, from recent times, where music has helped people identify with a cause and find a voice.
And that's not even mentioning classical music, and ancient cultural music. Music has been part of our heritage and environment since we figured out how to sing songs and bang stuff together to rhythm, probably in some tribal dances. I can't even imagine life without it.
Games
I can make my own music.. unless they gonna take my vocal cords too I do like films but if they where the only entertainment I think Id get board too quickly.
i put movies b4 i read the post, but my thought was id realy like to see far more movies and of better quality too, cos i dont think much of may of them, so if they removed everything but movies maybe that would be a poor choice unles they improved them.
some ot the movies ive enjoyed the most have had awesome soundtracks, like conan, and bladerunner etc, so i dont know how that would work ...
id miss meeting people from games but i wouldnt liek to only spend my entertainment on games.
however i just realised ive made the assumption we are talking about computer games , would the aliens still alow us to play tennis etc?
