Whatever it is for, i'm sure there would be a way, it's just a case of persevering with it till you get it figured out, it's not something i've dabbled in though.
There are loads of packages out there that do this for a small fee or on free trial. Trying to find an open source one is a bit tougher tho but i bet its out their somewhere.
This is the swf file I want as my background. Think it'll be cool moving my mouse around to the various icons and the desktop going mad
I've tried four different swf wallpaper programs and none of them work
as an example, acid.exe (in acid.zip) is an exe that's supposed to make the swf my background/wallpaper...
As an alternative, I'm thinking of embedding it in a html page and using active desktop to put it onto my desktop. Problem is, I can't find the sodding option to put it on! I've trawled around my display properties settings and can't find active desktop or web settings anywhere!
Any ideas on how to turn it back on? I've got tweakUI but can't find the option in there either >.<
In that case just right click on a space on the desktop, click properties. Display properties should be shown. Choose Desktop tab, click the browse button. change the file type to (.htm .html) and browse to your html page. You can also set your desktop to be totalformat using this method
Open the Control Panel.
Open the Display icon.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the Customize Desktop button.
Click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window.
If you wish to enable the Active Desktop, check "My Current Home Page". Add your current home page into your desktop or click New to add another web page and/or other Active Desktop features. To update the content, click the Synchronize button.
If you wish to disable Active Desktop, make sure all checkboxes in this window are un-checked.

Been to Web tab missing in the Customize Desktop dialog and now I got a web tab back whoo!
Flash background still doesn't work >.> Just get a message on my desktop and a box saying the desktop is just a demo >.< oh well... Will embed in html and see if THAT works...
