Gekkeiju Online - The Free 3d Multi-User Dungeon

Gekkeiju Online is a Fantasy based indie 3d Multi-user dungeon. The game has adopted a lot of good features from text based MUDs and combined them with features from normal MMORPGs. This allows the game to have some very unique features that have not been seen in any MMORPG before.

Being developed by a non-profit indie team the game is able to bring totally new features to the genre of online rpgs. The game is always under construction which means that new content gets constantly added unlike in most free online rpgs out there.

Gekkeiju Online is completely free to join and play.

This game is very bad, not because of the graphics or because of a lack of things to do, but there are abusive players there. These abusive people will pkill those who associate with others they don't like, making them hate you as a result. There's no way to avoid them as there's only one game server. You can't report the abuse to the admins. They don't want to hear any of this and will blame you for "complaining" to them, as they put it. This game shouldn't be allowed to exist as there are players in it who practice prejudice and discrimination. Despite all this, the admins won't lift a finger to resolve conflicts between players. The admins are biased too and will help those who are in their favor, which makes the game very unfair.

To be precise, her bad experience, was that she was a killstealer, and when her victims decided to player kill her, she started complaining to the admins. They refused to help her. Days later, she was banned from the game. The reason was completely unrelated. She helped a previously banned individual return to the game, and join her clan. With complete knowledge that assisting rule breakers in the game was against the rules.

And now she has been going through the internet making negative statements on every site which hosts information on the game, up to and including spamming people's youtube video's of their clan boss kills.

In short, pay no attention to her claims. The fact that they were so vague should have been an early tip off that they might not have been quite so honest.

So what would your feelings towards Gekkeiju be then ChrisArchmagi? I get the feeling that you would be somewhat more favourable towards the game than Rasha?

I've played the game since it's third Beta Version about five years ago. I like the game, like some of the people. The game is not perfect. The current version is still in development. It has only a tiny handful of quests, and little active content, though the gameplay is fun. The game is also very sarcastic, and funny to play through. It is in many ways satirical and a nice break from some games that take themselves too seriously.

The game is however undergoing a near total remake scheduled out in December. The game world is being enhanced and will be on average seven times larger. The graphics are being redone, with better terrain shading, effects, and GUI. Just all around an improvement. It'll also add new content. The administration is aiming for 50+ quests at opening.

And on a side note, when I say the game administration, the game is designed, programmed, animated, etc by one person. The only other admins are game admins who enforce rules in game.

Anyway, it is fun, and by the end of the year, it should be a lot better.

I know how that feels.

I shall endeveaure to make sure Total Format give the game a lot more coverage after what you've said, especially when it sounds to have a good future ahead of it.

That would be nice. One thing the game lacks is a large player base. Hopefully the new world will help attract those who otherwise would have left after seeing the old graphics.
