GBA PS3, Starship Troopers, and Namco's Tales all in the same week.

Starship Troopers for PlayStation 2
It was announced some time ago that the English development team Strangelite would be bringing its first-person shooter Starship Troopers to "next-generation consoles" in addition to the PC some time ago. Due out next year, the movie-based FPS reportedly has resource-heavy technology making it doubtful that one of those consoles would be the PlayStation 2. But after hearing reports from some of our spies in the Northern England, we've come to understand that a PS2 version of Starship Troopers just may happen; high intensity particle effects and all.

When can we expect to see it? Well, if the team can successfully port the code over to Sony's slender black machine, sometime near the winter of 2005 or early 2006.

S3 Joins PSP at TGS
It doesn't take a psychic to know that Sony is going to turn the 2004 Tokyo Game Show into the 2004 Tokyo PSP Show, but two separate sources in Japan have been filling us in on a possible surprise.

Apparently, Sony may also reveal something about its upcoming PlayStation 3 system (or whatever it will eventually be called) to close the festivities at a press conference planned for TGS week. Though our sources haven't pinned down exactly what kind of an announcement the team may make just yet, something about the PS3 is expected. But what could it be? We have just over two months to figure it out.

Tales of Symphonia U.S. Bound After All
U.S. PlayStation 2 owners were pretty disappointed when they learned that Namco's Tales of Symphonia was only going to be released in Japan for the PS2, while American gamers were only to receive the Gamecube version. Apparently that may not be the case any more.

The reason? A promising pre-order campaign and strong critical feedback has been garnering Symphonia plenty of kudos by the American press. And with the popularity of RPGs at an all-time high, the decision to move ToS to America for the PS2 would be a smart decision; especially with its rumored spring 2005 U.S. release date -- the perfect time to cash-in on pre-Kingdom Hearts II mania.

What's even more interesting is that Symphonia may not make it alone. Namco's other two PS2 Tales titles, Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Destiny 2 (under a new name) may come out one after another in succession for a trilogy of PS2 goodness in 2005.

Outrage and Pacific Power Guys to Resurface?
Unfortunately for fans of Alter Echo and Decent 3, THQ's former development studio known as Outrage Games was closed down not too long ago for financial reasons while the team at THQ's other studio, Pacific Coast Power & Light, were downsized for the same reason. From what we've been hearing on the grapevine, however, the remnants of Outrage may soon resurface again under another name if all goes according to plan.
