Dofus is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or MMORPG on the Internet. In the province of Amakna, the disappearance of the precious Dofus - dragon's eggs - has disrupted the daily life of a peaceful population. While strange phenomena are happening in the forests of the eternal province, hundreds of adventurers race off to find these eggs endowed with magic powers.

A constantly evolving game
Dofus is the only video game to propose regular updates to keep interest high in it. Right from the start, 20 characters distributed among 10 different classes, more than 10 trades, a few hundred Non-Player Characters (PNJ, spells or monsters are available. This non-exhaustive list will be completed progressively by novelties as the adventures and other quests advance. These updates will be for the most part transparently installed for the player, so that he or she can concentrate only on the game.

Getting Installed
Fast downloading

PC Compatible, MAC, LINUX
Dofus is available in a self-runnable archive (Windows™) and a zipped archive (Windows™, Mac® and Linux). There is no difference; the self-runnable version just allows automating a part of the installation.

Easy installation
To be compatible with different operating systems, Dofus installation was simplified. You unzip the archive containing the game and you're ready to play. And, you can place the Dofus installation folder anywhere on your computer.

Uninstalling without a trace
To uninstall the game, simply delete the installation folder ("Dofus" is the default folder name). There is nothing else to do. The game leaves virtually no trace after it is deleted and so theoretically there's no risk of installing and uninstalling it several times.

Access
Accessing Dofus
If you have installed the game via the updater, simply click on the Dofus icon located on your desktop.
If you have installed the game via the ZIP file, click on the DOFUS.html file located in the installation directory.

Logging in
After you have registered and then downloaded and installed the game, simply enter your identifiers in the identification page. If you forgot something, you can receive your identifiers at the email address linked to your account.

Creating a character
You can choose your character from among 11 different classes. You can create a male or female character. You can also personalize its look and give it a name (please choose a roleplay name).

The interface
The chat area
The chat function allows you to dialog with your friends and other players, know server information, as well as the log of spells your companions and your adversaries have cast. Advanced functions allow you to communicate privately, sort messages or know the number of players online. You can upsize or downsize the chat area.

The emoticons
The emoticons are an attractive and quick way to communicate. The emoticons bar scrolls according to your needs.

The life ring
In combat, the ring gives you information about your life, action and movement scores. It also indicates to you the time you have left in a pass.

The spells bar
With this bar you cast your spells. You fill it with spells from your inventory. You have 14 slots, so select carefully the spells you need to avoid wasting precious time during the combats.

Other options
You can also consult your character's charcteristics and trades, its inventory of spells and objects, the logbook with the game's maps and the list of your friends.

The bases
Discover the world
Dofus is a game in perpetual evolution. With more than 4,000 maps available at its official release, its universe will lead you into epic adventures. From the eternal province of Amakna to the most far-off countries, you will travel through sites with different atmospheres.

Discuss with players
Thanks to the Chat and its advanced functions, you can discuss with the other players, obtain information about the game and freewheel according to your roleplaying tendencies.

Control your friends
Create your own guild in Dofus by controlling your list of friends. You know whether they are online or not, whether they are busy or not, and you can send private messages to them.

Make the PNJs talk
To obtain precious clues during your quests or simply to learn a trade, don't hesitate to dialog with the Non-Player Characters (PNJs).

Face monsters (PvM)
Dofus is inhabited by strange creatures. Don't be fooled by their appearances. The sweet-looking Bouftous are capable of flattening you out like a pancake, while the Abraknydes will show you what they are capable of doing. In Dofus, the bestiary is regularly expanded with monsters as dangerous as beautiful. So, it will often be advisable to face them with a little help from your companions.

Challenge other players (PvP)
Your guild was offended by the impertinence of young louses. Your duty will be to make them change their minds. In a roleplay environment, you can team up with other adventurers to challenge the disrespectful players ... in good humor, of course.

The fights
The characteristics
Your character has more than 10 characteristics which you will have to manage in the best possible way to make him the best among all. Life scores, action scores, experience, energy, alignment, force, vitality, wisdom, luck, agility, intelligence, and so on are as such the parameter s which make him or her a unique being.

Discussing with players
Depending on your temperament and your character's abilities, you may decide to face alone the dangers laying in wait for you. But it is no doubt advisable to create your guild to take advantage of the talents of your companions. Warrior, Archer, Healer, Protector, Conjurer of monsters are aptitudes which will save your life several times.

The spells
Dofus is released with more than 360 different spells. But as you start out, your character's experience is limited to a few tricks of magic. Even though they can scare a little tofu, they can make the depraved Mulou chuckle. So you will have to learn new tricks as you go along. Whether they are specific to your character's class or whether you will learn them from a combat's outcomes, these spells will allow you to attack, protect, take care of, set traps, etc. and even conjure up monsters.

The attacks
Your character doesn't use only spells to attack ; if you want, it can use hand-to-hand attacks, offering it a larger range of offensive techniques. To improve these attacks, you can buy, steal or produce yourself weapons which are more and more devastating.

The random
Spells and close combats attacks rely on a virtual dice system. The damages which you cause, like those caused by your adversaries, may be foreseeable, but are never sure. Whether they are stronger or weaker, your characteristics and your equipment are also going to influence the result. So the combats are never won before your adversaries finally bite the dust.

The business
The Kamas
The kama is the official money of Dofus. You have to work hard to save a little capital. Fortunately, there are other ways to make money... attacking monsters or stealing are only a glimpse.

The stores
To buy potions, drinks, as well as weapons and other objects, the stores and the store owners welcome you. Everything is for sale or purchase, so don't forget to go shopping before taking off on an adventure.

The temples
Your character belongs to a particular class. As such, it can buy or sell various objects in the temples dedicated to its class. Here too it will obtain precious information about itself and its class members.

The worksites
Making bread, cutting wood, sculpturing arches, reaping wheat, tailoring clothing, these are all activities which offer the best prices on raw materials. You can buy or sell but, above all, you can learn a trade.

Buying and selling
Your character can buy or sell various products from/to the Non-Player Characters, or PNJs. It can also buy from or sell to other players. In this case, the transaction is free and only the law of supply and demand will determine the price... or your ability to convince.

The exchange
Everyone isn't lucky enough to have a sock full of kamas. In order to live, you can also resort to bartering. The foul-smelling hide of the bouftou, which you killed with your own bare hands and is a little to heavy for you, will no doubt be very useful in a deal with a tailor looking for raw materials.

The Merchant mode
When you are not online, you can also earn kamas. In the "Merchant" mode, you can sell the objects or productions of one of your characters at your own preset price. So your character behaves like a real PNJ and remains an PNJ until you are back online or until its "store" is sold out.

The trades
Varied and complementary
Dofus is released with more than 10 trades. Each allows you to take advantage of an activity and so accumulate your reserve of kamas. Lumberjack, Baker, Blacksmith and others as well allow you to provide for your needs or sell your productions to other players. But to exercise your trade in the best possible way, you will no doubt need products made by other players or else have more than one trade... Be careful with your choices because you can't go back.

From Apprentice to Grand Master
Your trade won't be learned in 5 minutes. You'll have to cut several hundred steres of wood before becoming a hardened lumberjack capable of knocking down any kind of tree. The same for all the trades. The difficulty in exercising a trade, however, becomes so much more interesting when your productions are unique and so negotiable at the highest price.

The crafts
It's good to produce raw materials, but it's better to produce complex objects. Thanks to your experience and good earnings, you can combine products which will allow you to create the most beautiful objects for you, your companions or potential buyers.

The quests
Find the Dofuses
Your first mission will be to search for the 6 varieties of Dofus. These eggs of considerable powers are spread throughout the whole universe. Some are more powerful than others ; they are also rarer. By finding the 6 different varieties, you will hold the fortune of Amakna in your hands.

Become an Amakna master
Without waiting to find all the Dofuses, you can make order or terror reign in the universe. Depending on your alignment and your personal goals, you can found guilds, brotherhoods or sisterhoods, orders, clans and other groups to control the Province.

In order to have more maps, monsters, quests and functions, Dofus offers also a regular series of updates and add-ons. With a single and unique goal : PLAY WITH PLEASURE.

Win tournaments
Tournaments, where the fair flowers of Dofus are gathering, are organized now and then. Come and fight to show off your talent or just to have some fun.

Train other players
Your great experience will allow you to teach in turn the disciplines which you master perfectly. Your trainees will be eternally grateful to you.

Acquisitions
Become an owner
In Dofus you can buy buildings where you control entries and store your treasures. So you can welcome friends or meet secretly with your guild's members.

Rent a safety deposit box
To store your possessions, you can rent a safety deposit box at the Amakna bank. You will probably need such a box to protect the items you've acquired with much difficulty.

Personalize more and more
You can acquire unique or rare objects, which will make your character an even more remarkable being.

Updates
In order to have more maps, monsters, quests and functions, Dofus offers also a regular series of updates and add-ons. With a single and unique goal : PLAY WITH PLEASURE.

Minor updates
For the first time in a video game, you can take advantage of innovations without having to worry about downloading them. In this specific case, everything takes place automatically. So you don't have anything to do to take advantage of them.

Major updates
When major add-ons and changes take place, you must install them. But since Dofus is a true video game concentrate, it is also just as easy to install a new version than update an old one. It's up to you.
