The free News Channel (aside from an internet connection, duh) has but one requirement: the Opera browser. So if you plan on shunning all forms of communication to the outside world other than your Wii, you'd better download it now before they actually start charging for it.

The whole selecting a region sound good, but i wonder how specific it is. Like can i click on leeds and find news happening at home or will it be just general news for England or Yorkshire i get.

Cant wait.

the weather forcast channel is city specific so hopefully it will drill down that far too for news.

Finally managed to figure out how to send Mii characters to people today too

I am a news junky!
I am seriously looking forward to this, but I wonder will news in a different country...say Japan.. appear in English?

my Wii parade is always empty... i don't think anyone has sent me a Mii.. although ratio is out there...

Im still a bit unsure about how Mii works but there should be a psudeo Harv on its way to your parade grounds

made a 2nd one as I didnt know if you could stil use the saves from the Mii's if they were out and about but it looks like they just send out facimillies.

As for the news I think it will probably be in whichever language your console is set to so if you change the language in settings it will come up in that language.

Only 2 days till we find out tho. Gives me time to get a bit further in zelda and red steel

Its quite good!

I like the slide show feature, (for those of you out the loop on this one, the slide show takes a news feed topic ((regional/technology/sport/etc..)) and locates it on a globe) and its placement of city's is spot on!

I think this is a great feature, and pressing the A button during a slideshow feature brings up the full story.

The whole interface just feels right.

think it could do with a tiny bit brighter colour scheme ( the grey is a bit dreary ) as just because its the news doesnt mean it has to be boring

I love how you can zoom in on an area and it splits the articles into there geographic locations.

Can't grumble for a free channel and can't grumble at how quick the upgrades take place either.

I think Mii an my Wii are in for some fun times.

OMG how much more fun is it with 2 remotes

edit: Well my Mii's are kinda in proportion to the rest of the family. That one is a little more rushed than my original as I was not sure if it actually sent your actual Mii character to visit so you lost your scores till he returned.
