I agree this is a gaming forum, however the topic was just why would people choose a PS3 over an XBOX360, so I gave my input. Sorry if it went beyond the implications of what a console can do beyond that.
In future I'll refrain from trying to elevate this sections understanding.

I know the cell chip is fantastic i never said it wasnt nor did Zam.
The problem was you took what Zam said as a full blown attack when it wasnt he was making light of the fact you wanted the system just for a chip (You did say it was the ****ing sex after all) and that it would not be used fully in PS3.

I dont really care what the cell chip can do outside or inside the PS3 as long as it plays games, and you certanly dont need to hype the system to me of all people.

And one more question, if not PS3, if not 360 then what reasons are there for not getting a Wii ?
Wii is also a next gen console after all, why does it have to be 360 or PS3 ?
I don't like the Wii because the gmes look outdated to me, I personally think the new controller will be a novelty that after a while of playing people won't like (of course I can't be sure of that without trying it myself just as you guys can't be usre that it will be a complete succes).
As for the classic games coming back, I personally think that old games are only good for nostalja (sp) reasons, very few are fun today when compared to whats been released since. Infact the only games I can think of are the 2D platformers for obvious reasons. There's a couple of games I'd be interested in playing again after all these years (Wave Race and Pilot Wings 65) but I bet they're crap now compared to what I remeber them as.
I personally think people are getting ripped off with Wii.
No I wasn't insulting you it was just light hearted, I know it's a powerful processor but the fact is that multi-core processors are nothing new, they've been used in scientific computers and things such as whether forecasting computers for years now. Also, although the PS2 could run Linux as far as I'm aware its networking capabilities where limited. Now obviously the PS3 has the ability to run Opera, and thus the ability to connect to the internet, and thus the ability to network with other computers. Yes the Cell might be able to break one million bit encryption, but it's nothing new, fact is if someone wanted to do that the technology was already there, it's cheaper with the PS3, but it's stuck in a machine that's not built for such purposes, Linux is an alright OS for such stuff, but you'd probably want to be running an IBM super computer with Unix.
The reason I edited my post was because I realised that this was you I was quoting and you'd start one of your little flame wars which you always get so caught up in, and to be totally honest I couldn't be bothered. No, not because "u nu u wer rong lol" but simply because arguing with someone I don't know over the internet who seems to have some weird vendetta against me is a waste of time. Why on earth wouldn't anyone want a PS3 over an Xbox360?
We're talking real power here, a true next generation console. The first cell based PC's are going for thousands of pounds, not to mention. You can get a PS3 for around £425, not to mention the added bonus of BluRay, enabling more content per disc, so we won't have companies struggling to cut things back to keep to the one disc quota in order to keep costs down.
People can go on about the XBox360 graphics not been that far from the PS3's but we're talking about a console almost a year on in release and development, as opposed to a console not even on shelves in any country yet. In a years time the PS3 will eclipse the 360 in the visuals department. People moan about the Wii not keeping up graphically, but the 360 will look *so* dated, Microsoft are *so* cheap not throwing in technology that would stand the test of time. And the price? Pfft for an Xbox1.5 they want £280??
Games is where its at, the PS3 (unlike the Xbox360) will be able to play its previous iterations games out of the box without the need for software updates. Thats a HUGE amount of games with a HUGE amount of quality. Not to mention what is coming soon for the PS2, Kingdom Hearts 2, Final Fantasy XII, Disgaea, Rogue Galaxy, Okami, etc etc etc, the list goes on.
The line-up of games for Sony's PS3 is already eclipsing 360's. Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavenly Sword, AMG TEH RESISTANCE FALL oF MAN! The Xbox360 doesn't have a hope in hell. Microsoft will turn out another console in a few years just to try and keep up with Sony.
And until Detomah stops poking himself in the eye and realises we have a John Critland 1.5 on the forums who needs a good donging on the head with the ban stick thats how i'll be posting.
I didn't realise that when PS3 is launched that's it for X360, the games will stop improving
To be fair though I understand why people would rave about games they like only appearing on the PS3, but MGS and Final Fantasy games have never done it for me.
To be honest, everyone can flame, argue and gloat about how they penetrated their 360 all they like but the fact is that the only next gen console out at the moment is the 360, now in the months the 360 has been around the sales have been well, lets just say Microsoft haven't expressed any complaints about sales, which would lead anyone else to believe that the further next gen consoles to be released are no doubt going to sell out.
Now I personally like all the consoles, I must admit I possibly am slightly more critical to the 360 for the sheer fact of the fanboys, yes there is fanboys for all consoles but I hate the fact how 360 fanboys will try everything in their power to put people off of a console.
The Wii is a next gen console improved on the Cube by a bit, not as much as the 360 but nowone can acuse Nintendo of not being inventive, they seem to have pulled alot of stops out for the new consoles and landed alot of exclusive and unique games for Wii only and at £180, this is not a rip off.
I believe the 360 is an example of a teenage next-gen console, it isn't yet to standard but everyone is already jumping on the bandwagon when it was released, I am sure the 360 will improve in time but I think vast improvements are needed if they expect to overturn Sony.
Now the PS3 I think is aimed at an older audience, it has the sort of games that appeared on PS2 and I also feel the PS3 shall be a true example of next-gen, yes the price is high but what do you expect for a next gen console ?
They are only charging the cash it is at to attain profit from this whole ordeal and I for one shall be buying a PS3, maybe not the most expensive model but I shall still own one without fail.
Thats my view on the next gen consoles, to tell you the truth I am into buying consoles for the gaming pleasure only, I never brag at how good my console is, I only ever buy consoles for games, not for watchings films or browsing the internet or playing music etc. etc.
Thats my view on all three but in my opinion, if you want a true experience, buy all three, like I plan to.
Maybe not right away but eventually, thats pretty much how I always do it and at least i'm not short on any choice when it comes to console exclusives.
*360 fanboys, refrain from trying to sell me your console, I am almost ready to buy it myself so I do not need your marketing posts, in fact I am so sure I am buying it that my copy of HALO 3 is already on pre-orders.
So don't feed me anymore 'Microsoft is god' bull ****!
