Ok i've tried pretty much everything here, using the xbox forum for help, ringing their support line (which none of know a word of english) and searching every website i can find with still no answers.
I am connection my 360 via ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), where i have a usb modem so one end of the ethernet cable goes into the 360 ones into my network card into pc. Firstly i had problems on Xbox Live Connection Test with the IP, kept coming up failed, after 6 hours i sorted it out by using a IP i was given on a support website. So i typed that in and didnt work so i turned my pc modem and 360 off for 5 minutes and it miraculously worked.
So i get IP confirmed, i thought at last. Then it gets to DNS which fails every time. I've tried setting it to automatic with no luck and ive gone into my system via that dos screen thing that tells you yours primary and secondry DNS numbers with also no luck.
I've really got no idea. Anyone experience the same problems that can lend a hand? Im so desperate to get this sorted i will even paypal somone over a tenner who can get me on live by the end of the day lol

Yeah lol, i remember thinking i couldent connect my Xbox up because i didnt have a routed and my modem was usb and didnt have any ethernet ports, i got my 360 on release date but i havent actually played it yet as there was no games that interested me. After hearing about this Dead Rising demo (Game ive really bee looking forward to) i looked it up and found out i could connect via ICS and noticed i had ethernet ports in the back of my pc.
Spent 10hrs yesterday sorting it out as i kept getting IP fail, sorted that eventually after speaking to half of Marakesh on xbox live phone support and trawling through countless forums and websites. Then it wouldent let my net connection ICS after the countless amounts of trying i tried it this morning and suddenly the option was availiable, then i started getting DNS problems which was a pain in the tits and i ended up getting it off this website which id tried hundreds of times before lol.
Eventually i got it up having tried everything 20 times over it was definately worth it lol i love dead rising demo and ive beenplaying it and playing it and im hooked lol. gotta love jamming lego/bear masks on zombies heads and ramming a bottle of ketchup in their mouth. Also i love doing the trolley dashes and playing golf using a zombies mouth as hole number 9. The best part though is making your guy put on the kids clothing
Go to the restaraunt upstairs, get a pie and put it in the mixer thing, then get some orange juice and put it in. Then when a red thing comes out, put that back in, and then put some orange juice in with that. Drink the thing it gives you, and you get laser spit Just press up on the D-Pad to unequip what you're using, hold aim and shoot

Omg i didnt think things like that were interactive. I noticed i could turn on the hob and stuff but i didnt realise u can make stuff etc lmao ive gotta give that a go.
And Cint everything i needed to fix it was on http://www.xboxlivetheguide.co.uk/ , even if i did have to mess about with it countless times i got their in the end. The main offender was the IP Failing and to fix that i tried everything on the whole website but the thing that fixed it was unplugging the modem, turning off the pc and 360 for 5mins then turning it back on, worked fine then.
If you get the frying pan and put it onto the hob (after that's been turned on) you can face-melt the zombies

yeah, some configerations need you to reset your pc... for example, unplugging a hub and replacing it with a router... You can't instantly start using the router; you need to restart your computer... Prolly the same thing with this - just needed to reset your pc n xbox so that they could recognise each other >.>
