Is anyone else playing this game? I don't know what it's like on the PS3 but I've got to say for the X360 this game is awesome!
It's got everything a survival horror game needs -
Simple yet effective gameplay
Dark scary feel to the game, some parts are genuinly disturbing
Great Story Line
Brilliant special effects, making the whole experience even greater.
To give you an idea of the feel of the game think Event Horizon with Aliens that look horrible and want to kill you in disgusting ways on the loose.
The game is extremely scary at times, there have been moments where I've literally wanted to put the game down but because it's so addictive/fun and with a great story unfolding you want to carry on.
A perfect game in my eyes, there are new refreshing challenges that come every so often, sometimes completely shocking you.
If I was to point out a flaw in the game I woudl say it's extremely difficult at some parts, I'm on chapter 9 of 12 and it's already extremely hard.
If you own an Xbox 360 get Dead Space, plain as. You can pick it up for £30 from HMV. Complete bargin.
Gotta agree with all of the above, completed the game on PC just b4 xmas and is probably my game of the year in fact is also the only game in years im playing through again on a harder setting. The only real niggle i had with it was the viewpoint as im not really a big fan of 3rd person / over the shoulder viewpoint games. Its got a few similarites atmosphere and game style wise to an oldish (xbox,pc,sony thing) game called cold fear where you start of on a seamingly abandoned ship in a storm. Would also make a great film if done right although there is an animated film prequel that came out on blu-ray
How cool is this, look at the titles of the 12 chapters, see if you can spot anything about the story itself ^^

Just goes to show how much thought and effort they made into making this game. People are actually calling it a movie.
I didnt find it scary at all, there was no suspense, typical predictable scares, however the combat was good, the graphics very impressive the story was OK I would say, nice twist in the end, but it wasnt exactly shocking though was it?
I was hoping for a "SIlent Hill in space" but it just turned out to be another over the shoulder shooter with surreal, scay looking monsters. Also there seemed to be a total lack of monsters, there was only ever the main humanoid ones, baby ones with tentacles, ones stuck to the wall, and later one they just got "upgraded".
It was good, dont get me wrong, but it just seems as if it could of done so much better cause everything is there to make an amazing game!
