Back at Cadwell again this weekend for a days racing with the Historic Sports Car Club.

This started out as a great days racing before the clouds opened up and let rip with sheets of hailstone which left the circuit slippy again.

First time at cadwell as a marshal - only been for training day before today. Still getting my footing and getting to grips with sign on procedures and the likes got posted to post 3 ( which I now know is charlies infield ) and on my drive round the circuit had to do 2 laps to find the right post they stick the post numbers on the inside of the huts the wrong side of the post to see from the track so ended up searching all over for the right post ><.

Put down for the First race meeting of 2008 at Mallory as an opener to the season this tends to pull in a lot of marshals and this year was no exception. 185 marshals turned up to watch some cracking racing. Again I was one post off all the action but my god what action it was no less than 6 MR2's spinning out of control over spilt liquid on the track and a RED Flag stopping the race which later appeared to have not been requested by race control but by the marshals on the post up from us. ...

Arrived at Cadwell Park bright and early to take part in the training day. 80 or so marshals in attendance all doing different disciplines (observer, flag, incident, course... ) so we split into groups and do a briefing on our discipline. We then do fire training where we learn how to put out a car fire properly and which extinguisher to use on which fire in what order.
