Well it's always a special moment when clergy and the like rise to the boy-raping stereotype they have been somehow awarded. It's probably one of the more unfair bandwagons rolling down the parted sea.
Anyhow! The judge was in a tight spot here. Sadly it's not all vigilante justice over in the courts...the law isnt fair and never could be, the only way of making it fair is to apply the same unfairness to everyone. At least thats how the theory goes.
It's hard to accept the job of judges...and while TV and our morals tell us they should be the guardians of justice...this really isnt true for most of the time.
The judge must in all his or her cases establish the existance of a legal remedy within their sentencing... with the fact that he had alledgedly undergone treatment and etc for all of this presents a large amount of remedy in itself. He cant just throw people in jail because people say itll give them closure (¬_¬ Closure from having your kid potentially raped? Revenge maybe...), even though it's almost certainly what the guy deserved.
It's really the law's fault, the Judge could have been penalised heavily for jailing him under the circumstances. Meanwhile the defendant goes to appeal and is let off because all the other judges dont want to be scrutinized as well.
Basically the solution were talking about here is some kind of pedophile-killing Batman.
*sigh* i think judges need a pay rise.
