I'd be ok with it if the bulls weren't drugged before hand to render them more docile

Absolutely it is utterly cruel and barbaric and it promotes violence

Regardless, we're not justified to trample on the rights of other countries
Supporters of bullfighting revere it is an art form. It is regarded as an intensely spiritual experience that represents the battles between man and nature and man and himself. Opponents condemn the practice as an abomination that turns civilized members of society into nothing more than barbarians. Those who despise the practice believe it is animal cruelty at its most extreme. They believe it should be banned all over the world.

It should be banned. Poor bulls have their horns cut and are drugged up so its not an even fight to start with, not that it makes any difference, its just over grown, Lycra wearing dancers trying to be macho
I think it should continue but for them not to drug the bulls or spear them, that way the bulls really dont get hurt, the people do, if its all about man versus beast then then they should be made equal!
I have seen some bullfights when i was in Spain, I never agreed with them anyway, but, to appreciate what they say i have watched a few live fights.
On 2 occasions i have seen the bull win, have seen a mans faced ripped out of his skull when he got his timing wrong, its a horriffic sight believe me.
I have also seen the bull slowly drained of its life and finally killed with the final stroke. While i can appreciate the history, even the honour and prowess of the toreodor, it is a cruel and outdated pastime.
It is almost like the Roman games when animals were killed for the peoples pleasure in new and interesting ways. Sometimes tradition its't worth keeping.
In the end the bull even when he wins, always dies. I think it should be banned, we live in an era now where you cannot say anything negative about anyones elses belief or culture and must respect them. I for one think we should be challenging each others beliefs and traditions if we are to move to a unified world. there is no place for outright cruelty for the sake of entertainment, and it doesnt just stop at bullfighting.
Nothing short of a total ban. Killing and injuring animals for sport is just barbaric savagery. Bear bating, cock-fighting, fox hunting etc..etc all add up to one thing - undeveloped savages amusing themselves.
I dont think it should be banned, its a spanish tradition. i would happily watch a bull fight.
i didnt realise the bulls were drugged beforehand though it would be more fair if it wasnt. Also if the bull wins it shouldnt be killed but fight again.

Disagree, traditions that entail cruelty are only accepted habits that people have come to accept and weirdos enjoy. It was ( is ? ) 'tradition' for a widowed wife to be burnt with her deceased husband.in some countries Come to think of it, involuntary female circumcision is still a 'tradition' in many cultures. I'll bet there's a lot more horrifying 'traditions' TF contributors can come up with ? Simple rule, just because a bunch of sadistic arseheads have been doing something for a long time and like it.......does not make it right or justifiable. NB To kill or injure for entertainment is just good old fashioned human savagery.
In its current format it should deffo be banned, but if it was governed by strict animal cruelty laws it would and could be a valid form of entertainment along the lines of american rodeo's .
A person and a bull are completely different though
You defended bull-fighting because it's a (spanish) tradition, so was stoning people to death. When enough people reach a consensus about some tradition being horrid enough they abandon or change the tradition in question. So, in western world a stoning is a very rare event.
Given enough time (I think) also the bull-fighting will be very rare and illegal.
