I've been watching this situation unfold with interest, on the news, for the past few days and I find it absolutely incredible that MPs have exploited to such an extreme degree, the very same systems these people have spent so much tax payers money putting laws in place to defend us all from in the first place.
I think we have all always known that corruption and politics go hand in hand and that there has always been and will always be people within politics that will use the systems to benefit themselves, but when normal people go to prison for much lesser fruadulent crimes than these polical criminals have been allowed to commit without even so much as a slap on the wrist, then it paints a clear picture as to just how far from grace this country has fallen. There has been a serious distrust in politics and politicians for a long long time as it is, but any tiny slither of trust that had remained must have surely been destroyed with what has been going on.
It's all fine the party leaders coming out and saying the system nees changing and that they are sorry on behalf of all political parties, but the simple fact remains and which is unforgiveable and that is that these people are voted into a high profile position of trust and they should always without exception act as such and if they do anything at all to put that trust in doubt, they should be removed from that position, otherwise it makes the entire voting process a farce. Ok, we all know we don't get what they promise to get voted in, but the question needs to be asked... This is just one tiny thing that has been exposed, what else is in need of exposure and how many other illegal, distrustful things are bent politicians getting away with right now?
