The Big DebateIf you feel the need to get your teeth stuck right into a heavy debate on a subject you feel really passionate about, then this is the place to do so. Post about religion, politics, laws and all things juicy like that here.
I do think it is a funny sketch, but it's very unfair what they have done with the editing and how they have put the sketch across, putting all the stupid answers together to make the most ridiculing piece together they could. You take enough footage of course your going to get some right right funny results and enough to make something like this, i'm sure anyone from any country could do something like this about any other country.
I'd love to see a British equivalent, cause we all know this country has plenty of Jade Goody type people who think stuff like Oxford is some foreign place. I mean, i've told enough people in my life time that i'm from South Shields, yet i'd say less than 5% have had a clue where it is (without Googling it) and even when mentioning Newcastle, people from down south have thought of it as like 2 miles south of Edinburgh, really...
I beg to differ , surely it's the Delta Quadrant ?
I dunno, Delta is the far away bit that Voyager got booted off to, the gamma quadrant is where the wormhole near DS9 goes to and has the dominion etc on the other side, cos theyre always worried about the dominion coming thru from the gamma quadrant to alpha?
Im not that big into star trek anymore, tho i watch random episodes on Virgin 1 still

On The Weakest Link the other week, one question was 'Which Scottish city has an underground system nicknamed the Clockwork Orange?' and the woman answered,
'Newcastle.'

It is, for a whole multitude of reasons, not limited to but including Catherine Cookson, Ridley Scott, The Great North Run, being the home of the most famous marine engineering education center in the world, it's David Miliband's seat and home, etc, etc, etc.

I knew NONE of that stuff before I moved here I think the David Miliband thing only gets mentioned on the regional news, otherwise they just mention his name and not his seat and stuff, because I've never seen it on Scottish news etc, only on TT. And I had to ask my mum whether Catherine Cookson was the Author or the person in the books and films. It's not MEGA famous stuff, to be fair.

Again, the point is missed...
Does anyone want to actually offer up the actual intended irony of what I did with my initial post, to those not getting it....
My Mum was a Catherine Cookson fan think she read most of her books shame she's not around to watch UK Drama she'd have been in her element as I am, I'd miss any soap if I knew one was on.
I've re-read your post guess I'm thick Det can't see wood for trees these days
