Depending on your point of view, either the evil scumball or the tragic sick man, Paul Gadd (formerly Glam Rock superstar Gary Glitter) arrived back in the UK after serving a prison sentence/sentance in some god-awful jungle nation for doing a Very Bad Thing.
The reptilian tabloid press were thronging about 15 deep, scrambling over each other's fat, sweaty, hypocritical, bloated frames, in what has to be one of the most disgusting scenes in the short and inglorious history of humanity.
The drink and cocaine fuelled 'journalists' were all equally eager to condemn a man for being slightly more distasteful than themselves, snarling spittle-flecked questions through bared, bacon rind infused and coffee stained teeth. All the while harbouring sinister and psychotic desires to do physical harm to a fellow human, revelling in an inner glee that morons the nation over would share in this disgraceful fantasy.
Then the moment they had all been waiting for, the very Monster himself. A shambling weirdo with a peculiar goatee type arrangement and spectacles which make him look oddly Asian and otherworldly. The sorry sight of a man, orphaned at 10 years old and continually sexually abused throughout his formative years in various care homes, then by predatorial homosexuals in the London theatre and club scene.
Putting aside the fact that myriad studies show the bullied child becomes the bully, the sexually abused child becomes the sexual abuser and the fat child becomes an annoyance, the nation can roar in unison against this Very Bad man.
How quickly we forget that this man, who emerged from such a broken childhood managed to forge a highly successful career for himself, at a time when the world clearly had no shame and was happy to go around wearing shiny suits, absurd platform shoes and haircuts which would get you stabbed before you could utter 'Jack Robinson' nowadays. Because in old age, his brain programming reverted to the patterns branded in his youth.
His life is already a misery, but we can be absolutely certain that there will be many people out there wishing to compound that misery. Not willing to understand the real human tragedy at work here because they are too stupid to think for themselves, look behind the rabble-rousing tabloid hysteria or their own inate lust for violence and punitive justice.
Don't get me wrong, Gadd will have been completely aware that what he was doing was wrong and still carried on with it, he should certainly never be left unsupervised with young children and his whole idea of resurrecting his musical career is frankly delusional.
But don't forget, Monsters are not born, but created. Created by the very society which these tabloid scum-of-the-earth are so keen on protecting at all costs.
Same here, I also believe harbouring an inner desire to cut off someone's testicles is worse than the desire to have sex with a child. Both types of people should be monitored.
Hes just a very sad old wired looking man. Maybe is antics with the young girls comes from him not wanting to become what he is now.... old and unwanted!

Yes he is a "bad man", yes he is a bit wierd and should not be left alone around young children, but persecuting the guy because he was once famous and neglecting to take account of his life, as you point out, modeled behavior?
Another Michael Jackson - tortured by the press now, tourtured by his life in the past and facing torture of the masses of brainwashed individuals that listen to the media hype in the future.
The legal and penal systems are crap and don't work most of the time but the media that follows the released offenders around, cultivating a vigilante approach to reformed justice is just getting to be as sick as the "bad people" themselves.
