I get people asking me how to do Rodney’s Warped World all the time, so I’ve decided to put a little guide together for novices. I know there are maps out there of the different areas, but I haven’t yet come across a good explanation of how to properly use these maps and to explain what RWW is all about, so here’s my guide for beginners.
Minimum Requirements To start out with, the minimum level for RWW is 30. This doesn’t mean however, that every level 30 will be able to handle the monsters. They are the same throughout all twenty stages of RWW, except for their levels. And of course, with their levels come higher stats, etc. The monsters have both light warrior and dark warrior, so there is no advantage on what time of the day to do RWW. Now, in order to complete each level, you need to find and touch a certain number of orb stands. These stands look just like regular orb spawners, except that they glow green instead of blue. You get a little bit of regular experience for each of these green orb stands that you touch. RWW 1 = 10 Orb stands RWW 2 = 11 RWW 3 = 12 RWW 4 = 13 RWW 5 = 15 RWW 6 = 16 RWW 7 = 17 RWW 8 = 18 RWW 9 = 20 RWW 10 = 21 RWW 11 = 22 RWW 12 = 23 RWW 13 = 25 RWW 14 = 26 RWW 15 = 27 RWW 16 = 28 RWW 17 = 30 RWW 18 = 31 RWW 19 = 32 RWW 20 = 33 Once you get all except the last orb stand required for a level (ex. 9 out of 10), you need to find a half sphere and use it with the last orb stand to complete the level. Half spheres have two different functions in RWW. The first use is when you need them to finish a level. There are five different colors of half spheres which, when completing a level, give you the following: Red sphere: Military Experience Green sphere: Regular Experience Yellow sphere: A save White sphere: One Lollipop Blue sphere: Gold (money) So for example, if you were to find and touch 9 out of the 10 orb stands for the first level, you would need to find another orb stand that you haven’t touched, and also bring along the half sphere of the color you want to receive the reward for. Once you find the orb stand, shift+left click the sphere so you are holding it in your hand (for this example let’s say it’s a red sphere, which most people use for rewards in RWW), then use the orb stand and you will receive, in this case, military experience. At this point, all of the orb stands that you have touched reset and you are given a new number, always one or two more than last time, of orb stands that you need to find. So of course, you would need to find and touch all of the orb stands you found last time, plus one or two more to complete the next level. Now, before I go on I would like to give you all a little tip. Remember how I said that you need to have a half sphere to use with the last orb stand to complete a level? Well, not all areas of RWW have half spheres, so it’s a good idea to save one orb stand to be your last one every time and make sure that it’s in an area that has half spheres. The reason for this is that you are not allowed to take half spheres of one area to a different one (I’ll discuss this later). The most convenient one is the orb stand at the beginning of the green area, right behind the depot. That way, you can store your half spheres in that depot, and when it’s time, just grab the one you wish to use and your orb stand is right there. If for some reason you forget this, and are stuck and not able to find a half sphere, and thus unable to finish that level, there is another option. You can tell the mage at the beginning of RWW the word ‘reset’. This, obviously, resets all the orb stands and you would be starting your current level all over again. However, you do not get any regular experience from the orb stands this time around. Once you complete the level, you still get your reward from the half sphere and from then on, everything is back to normal. Getting Around The next thing that you need to know is how to get around in the different areas of RWW. There are three types of doors throughout the areas and each requires something different. The first, and easiest of them are the gray colored ones. These function just like many of the doors in Astonia, you just use them and they open. The second type of door are the red colored ones. These are a little tougher, but still require nothing to open them. Once you touch a red door, you pass through it and into a room that contains one monster. In order to pass into the next room, you must defeat this monster. Later, when you start needing orb stands from the white area, some of these red doors lead you into rooms where the number of monsters can range from 2 to 12. You still only have to kill one monster to pass through, but it is hidden among the others. You can pass through these doors and rooms as many times as you need to without any penalty, you just have to defeat the monster(s) each time. The third type of doors are the green ones. These require you to have the green RWW keys. Each time you pass through a green door, it requires one key. You get these keys by collecting the stones from the Pentagram Quest and giving them to the mage at the beginning of RWW. Each stone gives the following: Earth stone: 1 key Fire stone: 2 keys Ice stone: 3 keys Hell stone: 4 keys It’s important to think ahead and have at least as many keys that you will need for a certain area, plus a few more for mistakes that you might make, like clicking a door twice. If you run out of keys in the middle of an area, you are effectively stuck and you must lag out. There are a total of 5 areas of RWW, one for each color of the half spheres. There are a certain predetermined number of orb stands and half spheres in each area. These never change and are always in the same spot, which is why we are able to make accurate maps. Most beginners are able to find the 7 orb stands that are in the first (green) area of RWW, and then become stuck. This is the point where knowing the second function of the half spheres comes into play. In each main area, there is a glowing column that is known as a teleporter. The first one that you might find is in the bottom left corner, directly west of the only blue square in RWW. In order to travel to other areas, you need to use the half sphere that corresponds with the area that you want to get to. For example, in order to get to the yellow area of RWW, you would use a yellow half sphere with the green teleporter at the beginning of RWW. You are not allowed to take any half spheres from one area to another. If you try, they will vanish. Within each main area, there are also mini areas, if you will, that are designated by numbers (Red Area 2, White Area 3, etc.). It can get very confusing on how to get to certain areas so I will attempt to list all the combinations that I know. Green Area: Enter this area through the stairs in the Random Dungeons. Yellow Area: Enter from green area using a yellow sphere with the teleporter. Red Area 1: Enter from green area using a red sphere. Red Area 2: Enter from yellow area using a red sphere. Red Area 3: Enter from green area using a blue sphere. Red Area 4: Enter from green area using a white sphere. Red Area 5: Enter from yellow area using a yellow sphere. Red Area 6: Enter from yellow area using a blue sphere. Red Area 7: Enter from yellow area using a white sphere. Blue Area 1: Enter from red area using a blue sphere. Blue Area 2: Enter from red area using a red sphere. White Area 1: Enter from red area using a white sphere. White Area 2: Enter from blue area using a white sphere. White Area 3: Enter from white area using a blue sphere. White Area 4: Enter from white area using a white sphere. White Area 5: Enter from white area using a yellow sphere. White Area 6: Enter from white area using a red sphere. White Area 7: Enter from blue area using a blue sphere. White Area 8: Enter from blue area using a yellow sphere. White Area 9: Enter from blue area using a red sphere. I know that I might have missed one or two areas, such as how to get to the last orb stand in RWW, the one that requires about 44 keys. Each area gets progressively harder. The green and yellow areas only have the monsters behind the red doors. However, in the blue areas and in a few whites ones, there are not only the ones behind the doors, but also some free roaming monsters that are levels 70 and 97, respectively. The sign at the beginning of RWW warns you of the white area ones. Also, each time you complete a level, the monsters behind the red doors increase in level. After a few levels they also begin using endurance and freeze potions. Orb Stand Locations For your convenience, I’ll list how many orb stands are in each area. Green Area: There are 7 orb stands in the green area, one of which is behind a false wall. Yellow Area: There are also 7 orb stands in this area. Red Area 1: Two orb stands. Red Area 2: None. Red Area 3: One orb stand. Red Area 4: None. Red Area 5: Two orb stands. Red Area 6: One orb stand. Red Area 7: One orb stand. Blue Area 1: None. Blue Area 2: Seven orb stands. White Area 1: None. White Area 2: Two orb stands. White Area 5: The maps show no orb stands in white5 and 6, but I forget if there are any here or not. Anyone know? White Area 6: See above. White Area 7: One orb stand. White Area 8: One orb stand. White Area 9: One orb stand. You might have noticed that I omitted White Area 3 and 4. I didn’t include these because they do not have orb stands, but instead have orb spawners. There are 3 at the end of both White Area 3 and Area 4 for a total of 6 stat orbs. They have a min level of 80, and I believe they spawn every two months like regular orb spawners. Perhaps the best feature of RWW is that when you die, you do not lose your body. You are teleported to the last blue square that you touched, just like a normal death, but you are equipped with everything and lose nothing, except some experience. It doesn’t matter whether you are SC or HC, when you die in RWW you always get 36 negs. Maps can be found at: www.encyclopediaastonica.com www.hot.ee/fogleg http://www.geocities.com/praetosastonia/Quests_RWW.html (Did I miss any sites?) That’s all I can think of for now, so I’ll wrap things up. If you have any information or corrections that will make this guide more accurate, please say so. Also, if you have any other questions or if there are points that aren’t clear, ask and I’ll clarify if I’m able to. I hope this explains RWW a little more in-depth so that you are able to understand the concept. Have fun. |
