I know a few people from TF used to play AC2 quite a lot. And there are probably a whole lot more who went "nah I don't like 3D games" or "nah I'm too involved with mir". Maybe you're just not a huge fan of microsoft and don't want to play their games.
It was about this time last year we all started playing, and at that time AC2 was full or bugs, exploits, the players were nerfed at every patch, there was literally *NO* High level content, and it was a pain in the arse when the chat system broke down at least once a day for an hour or so. Literally all you could do when you reached level 50 was PK people, or hunt tyrants - most of the time trying to get a group to hunt with when the chat system was buggered. So naturally, most of the people left after a while, Including me. This forum's died down completely. Well I got bored during the week and installed AC2 again. Patching the game to the newest version took about an hour and I was up and away. I hated the PK aspect of the game on Coldeve, basically because when you came out of a portal, half the time you were dead where you stood because of people trying to increase their PK rating. So I started afresh on Dawnsong, and I remembered immediately how great this game was. I did a few vaults, crafted some wicked things, got some new items i.e. "Dereth music box" summons a jazz band for an hour (3 npc's lmao). I had a look on AC2HQ.com, and found that there had been millions of changes. Turbine is actually buying AC2 back off microsoft, and they've improved the game in so many ways... this was the most interesting article to me. have a read if you have time, it explains how turbine have solved most of the problems, added a whole lot more content for every level player, the level cap is now 150 with the highest being around mid 70s atm. The chat system was completely reworked, and most of the known bugs have been sorted. Turbine have worked really hard here, and you can see that upon entering the game About 5 minutes after I logged in, there was a server admin message "xxx has kiled the evil master bunny, heap praise and admiration upon him" to which the server chat window was spammed with "contrats" "wtg m8" etc. It seems turbine have worked harder to create a community within the game - and anyone who's played AC2 knows it's not a solo game. For anyone who hasn't tried the game, or wants to have a look, theres a 15 day free trial version. The download is quite big (mine took 3.5 hours), so it's probably something you'll want to leave running while you're doing something else like sleeping or at work. It would be nice to see some people coming back to this game because it's of a much higher caliber than it was a year ago. I've already had some interested people talk to me about it, so if anyone wants to join me, I'm on Dawnsong.. you can message /t Anarya /t Athelas /t Exxodus for a hand / noob stuff etc. |

![]() Nice game. Took me a while to get the hang of stuff and I still don't know what half of it's about lol Anyone fancy helping me out a bit? I'm a Tumerok and planning on being a spellcaster type person. Gonna keep playing for my 15 days and probably buy it. |

I've been playing the 15 day trial version.
On Dawnsong the max amount of people i ever saw online was about 250. Loads of people shouting out to make a group to go kill something for hours with no takers. Also seemed to be to many items to mull over. Sapling Bow of might. Sapling Bow of Dexterity. Sapling Bow of etc etc. Got confusing. |

I don't care what people say, ac2 is the best mmorpg on the market. You might get bored of it, but its one of the only games that has an update every month that has nice lore and at least some content for players. The dev team are straight with you, wether its good or bad you know about it. I might get frustrated with it, but i know its a good game, maybe not the best but one of the best out there atm.
Problem is, the population of my server is only about 60, and they wont merge with darktide that and theres like no advertising for the game. But anyway i renewed a few weeks ago, and back to my peekaying ways :xedit - i believe characters disapear after 6 months time of expirations..so you might be in bad luck forgie ![]() |

Nice to hear you're still playing Peanut, shame it's on Coldeve, might pop on and give you the extra cash they dropped on all my chars (they gave everyone who's had a character for over a year 50K and a cool statuette that buffs you - shame it's attuned lol) if you need it.
Detomah, I'll look out for you on Dawnsong, message me on Anarya if you need any help. I can craft you some armour and weapons which are much better than any you'll find for your level in the beginning. I'm a bit higher level now (36) so can help out more. Kerry, when choosing items it's not very difficult at all, you don't have to worry about durability or repairing or weight requirements. Just pick the weapon with the best damage and lowest combat delay, and all you need to worry about is being the right level to wear it. might/dexterity/cold/river etc all mean that it has a permanent enchantment which is like a spell, and it clearly describes the effect of that spell on the weapon, and how much damage it is. I think this game has very simple principles, but is still challenging to craete the best combo's of skills for your character and use them in the right order to do most damage. |
