About Antilia
Antilia is an online game that can be enjoyed simultaneously by thousands of players in a single persistent gameworld.
Players of Antilia start by creating a character, a member of an intelligent animal-like species known as 'Antilians'. Antilians come in several different 'breeds', and each breed can come in many different colors. Once the player has an identity, they will join the many other Antilians in their island home and can engage in conversation with other players, as well as participate in various interactive arts and crafts.
For the Antilians, there is much to be done. While their island home may seem to be an ideal paradise, the whole rest of the planet surrounding them is decaying and diseased. Players may discover they have the power to save the world... but the planet of Forra has many surprises of it's own.
Antilia is currently under development, and is not available for play at this time.
Antilia's Development Team
As Antilia's developers, our focus is to make Antilia as fun as possible. We are striving to create a game that combines the most beloved role-playing game concepts with new twists as well as our own original concepts. Our secondary goal is to create a community of players that is large enough to maintain the game, yet small enough that the voices of our players can be heard.
We aim for Antilia to be an independent commercial roleplaying enviroment that can serve it's players as efficiently as possible.
A Diseased World
"The world of Forra is nearly lost. While peace is a word long forgotten, centuries of war are long past too - for there scantly remains a soul to wage such a war.
"We who do remain have been dealt a cruel fate, for an unknown plague is spreading silently on Forra. Forests, villages, even cities, disappear overnight. Travelers, merchants, and scouts vanish without trace. The whole world is being swallowed up by enemy seen only by the dead.
"Overcrowded Gaun'ji cities (a species similar to humans) have become fortified sanctuaries, and travel is forbidden for them. For the residents of those sanctuaries, there is nothing left to do but wait."
An Island Sanctuary
"As for we the Antilians, wars of long past have driven us to living on an island, and there we discovered a cave filled with a crystalline mineral offering us the ability to control energy. We named these crystals 'Targa', and by using Targa, we constructed many great weapons. With time, we constructed a protective shield surrounding our entire island home. Inside this shield we both cowered from Forra's problems, as well as enjoyed a small taste of peace.
"Initially, we felt lessening concern for the outside world and the Gaun'ji who had brutally attacked and kidnapped us for many years. But as we mastered Targa, we came to understand that we could not ignore the world forever. If Forra died, then we too would eventually die. Braving our fears, we have disabled our protective shield, armed ourselves, and we now set out upon the only mission Forra has ever given us - to save her."
The Antilians
The Antilians have a strong sense of honor, and although they would like to be carefree and easy-living, generally take there responsibilities seriously once they have accepted them. The Antilians are great lovers of art in its many forms, and many strive to develop multiple artistic talents in their lifetimes.
Opposing that, the Antilians have a species-wide unexplainable fear called The Dread. They will avoid change as much as they can, and can be so fearful over even small changes in their life that it causes them great emotional distress. The Antilian's love for art is also a slight distraction for them, often wanting to pursue their arts to the detriment of other more important responsibilities, and often times, perform in arts which are extremely dangerous.
The Antilians are one species, although they have formed several different breeds. Generally, speaking, however, Antilian breeds to not differ much from one another, and are therefore only minimally different at performing any given task.
Coro - The Coro are the fastest of the Antilians, and are well regarded throughout Antilian literature as a stereotype for an affectionate or caring individual. The Coro are the second largest of the Antilian breeds, especially tall are the Coro males.
Felo - The Felos are agile and powerful. Frequently used in Antilian literature to indicate a curious or sometimes passionate individual, they are just as frequently used to characterize villains.
Kisan - The Kisan are known for their rugged bodies and long ears. The Kisan are stereotyped as being quick-tempered, but having superior strength to the other Antilians, they are regarded as the 'protectors' of the Antilians.
Lupan - The Lupan are the most balanced of the Antilian Breeds, being strong, swift, and surprisingly agile at times. The Lupan are recognized in literature as being faithful individuals.
Vulan - The Vulan are known for their small size and slender bodies. The Vulan are moderately fast, and agile, but not very strong. While the Vulan are considered the Antilians' pride when it comes to beauty, they do not receive quite the same honor or respect that other breeds receive due to a historical nature in literature as being mischievous, manipulative, and dangerously seductive.
