hey, im looking for Manga and anime series to BUY, m8 of mine got me hoocked on this genre and im looking for some good series, thus far my bro PURCHASED some episodes of the following series, wich i want to see more from:

- Tenjou Tenge
- Full Metal Alchemist
- Samurai Champloo

looking for 'Naruto' or something, seems to be a good anime aswell. and do ppl have suggestions for me in terms of 'must see' manga/anime series?

so, does anyone have a good site to PURCHASE one or more of these series ?

thanks in advance.

P.S: sorry if this is not the right forum to place this but i didnt know where to place it, so mods can move it if they think it fits better in another part of the forum

Since I don't think any of the licensees has released any of that anime yet, I don't know where you might be able to get your hands on em(unless you want em in jap). Sorry

Could probably suggest some anime like:

Samurai deeper kyo
Tokyo underground
Shaman king
Ninja scroll TV
Shadow skill
Dragon drive

Don't really know if they fall in the "uber powers" category though... Could you explain what you mean?

Well not quite sure about your taste in anime, but I could list a few that you could possibly like, a few have already been mentioned.

Naruto (as you said yourself but definitly recommended)
Shadow Skill (only seen 1 episode quite recently and it intrigued me, seen the films and they were pretty decent)
Trigun (Pretty good)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (not watched the series watched Death and Rebirth and that made me want to watch the series)
Cowboy Bebop - Funny, serious, good storyline and movie aint too bad either
InuYasha - Saw something like first 15 episodes a while back after that found it hard to get hold of any more episodes, seemed very interesting and does have quite a few powers in it, so that might intrigue you.
Ghost In the Shell Stand Alone Complex - Not seen, but friend keeps going on about it to me, so assume its pretty good.
Hellsing - Vampire's, pretty much sum's it up .
Outlaw Star - Similar to Cowboy Bebop in ways.
Serial Experiment's Lain - Will mess with your head.
.hack//SIGN - Interestin storyline, about a boy who gets trapped inside an online game, well done plot and the music to go with it owns .

Muh, I know loads more, but you need to be a bit more specific in your type of anime , will gladly see what I can do about putting a more precise list for you together.

Aye, GITS is deffinately recommendable. The movie as well as the series kick ass. Don't think it falls under the "uber powers" category though lol.

uber powers like ehm, ppl using special powers to fly, or to attack with one of the elements, i think everyone knows dragonball z, well those kind of powers, or with magic and lots of fighting etc.

to cut it short:

fighting with moves you NEVER be able to do in the real world

p.s: i liked the 'Akira' anime, not heavy super powers (only later on) but still a nice story, and loads of fighting

Might try and get a hold of some of that over the next week then . Like I said not seen it myself besides the movie, but muh I recommended some good anime in my opinion, it's up to him if he want's to watch it or not . He might find he enjoy's it anyways .

Naruto is definitly a recommendation then.
Evangelion has quite a bit of fighting in it.
Shadow Skill appears to be a series based on fighting.
Hellsing you still might quite like.
Big O, you might enjoy that always a big robot fight scene .
You might like Gundam.
InuYasha you still might quite like.
Witch Hunter Robin, another one recommended by a friend but he is vague on details.
Akira just didn't click with me at all, never really got into it I suppose, maybe I just missed something.

I am tired at the mo I will get a few more together for you if I can later . When TF comes back up .

i would probably recommend cowboy bebop because it has a great story and is just generally brilliant .

then if you liked the space theme of bebop you could try outlaw star which isnt as serious as cbp but has a decent story and good fight scenes and a lil bit of comedy aswell.

then i would try some mecha stuff
  • Evangelion - very serious stuff but its all good
  • gundam - more serious stuff again but its great when you get into it
  • martian successor nadesico - it has it all tbh big guns, spaceships, comedy and romance

then make sure you watch sum romantic comedys (i didnt think i would like them but i did )
  • tenchi muyo - it has its moments
  • love hina - similar to the above just a slightly more annoyin guy
  • chobits - Bah! its too cute

then i think it would be a good idea to watch excel saga because its just gr8

Hmm... Think excel saga requires a very peculiar taste to enjoy to be honest. Sure didn't sit well with me.
