geez you people really need history lessons !
the trouble is now you people have had it so good for so long, in fact a lot probably don't even remember the constant blackouts we used to have with the miners strike etc,, cities submerged under garbage because of disputes with council refuse workers etc,,, phones that when they did work didn't work that well, and when they stopped working it took months to get them fixed,,
OK so we have other problems now ,,, but think how much worse it could get if no one voted !
