Greetings from Cyprus
Sorry for not mentioning this weeks ago but it's been all go for the past month or two...
Where to begin?
Let's start with why I haven't been posting... I've finished my uni exams (celebration) and moved to Chester with my girlfriend. It was her birthday (celebration) then my graduation cermony the next day in Birmingham (celebration with the parents), then getting ready for trip to Cyprus, then GOING to Cyprus. Been here three weeks and a couple of days. On Wednesday girlfriend, her grandparents and I are going back to the UK. G/f and I had a week to ourselves followed by her grandparents (they own the place we're staying at) and it's a four week holiday
Her aunt and cousins arrived on Monday and are staying in the flat next door (also owned by her grandparents) and her uncle is arriving this Sunday (I think?).
Been swimming in the sea, found some fish, fed bread to the fish, went body surfing, been to another beach and built a 3foot sand castle (photos coming when I'm back in the UK), push g/f around on a blow-up lilo, g/f and I got sun burned on our backs because lilo rubbed suncream off our backs >.< Eaten lots of nice Cypriot foods (mostly meat but some fish), She's doing her dissertation so we only go out for half a day (in the morning when it's cool) then spend the rest of the day indoors till about 7pm when we go out along a mile and a bit foot path along the beach near us. Been to the local ruins, walked up a small mountain (practically straight up) then found a winding path which we took back down. Bought a 3metre boat that was 70Euros but because it was a display boat (last one they had in stock) we had it knocked down to 28Euros, but the person wrote the price wrong on the box so we got it for 23 Euros
G\f has monopoly on her iPod here and when we're not out doing stuff I'm on it playing that (think I've become a tad addicted. To the point where I'm trying to work out how to program it in php, actionscript 3, and javascript - think I'll do it in AS3 when I get home?). I've also been applying to jobs for when I get back and had a couple of emails back asking me to attend interviews and the such. One asked me to attend immediately despite my covering letter saying I was unavailable till the 21 August (get back on the 20th). I bricked up her iPod earlier and had to find out how to unFreeze it via the 'net... Quite a simple solution >.> Anywho, got that working again and now she's playing tetris again. She got a new iPod classic for her birthday, put on it over £100 worth of music and put on a couple of games for me for the plane trip over here (Monopoly, tetris, and brain training). She won't let me touch the tetris. She's addicted to it. The menu screen goes up to level 15 and she wants to know if there's more levels hidden after that of it that's it. When she's not working or out she's playing that. Usually last thing at night. Bought the first 4 (or was it 5?) series of CSI on dvd in a boxset and brought that over with us. Every day we've been watching a couple of those. Usually a couple at night before we goto sleep.
Have taken a wad of video footage, shoot-loads of photos, and when we get back to the UK I'm gonna edit it all together into a nice video of our hols
Will upload that to TF (or youtube) so you lot can see what we've been up to
Have learnt two glasses of wine (red or white) is enough to get me very drunk, and three glasses enough for me to feel nausous enough that I think I'm gonna throw up and not want to drink anymore
Girlfriend does not like me using the laptop during the day as last year she melted the harddrive in the heat, and during the night we're... occupied >.> This is the first chance I've had to have a proper "faff" on the laptop so here I am
Det - sorry for not giving you forward notice of my absense but been REALLY busy in the run up to the hols, and been unable to get to laptop till not.
I doubt you'll see me again for the next week or so but then I "should" be back to my 10+ posts a day
Oh, I've also been doing the ironing for g\f and myself, and her grandparents when they arrived - as a way of saying "thank you for letting me stay in your flat with your granddaughter for four weeks" - then her aunt's and her cousin's clothes when they arrived on Monday. Today is the first day I've not done the ironing (WHOO!).
Anywho - weather here is in the 30's (in the shade). Have got air-con in our bedroom which we have on from about mid-day
We go out morning and evening when it is a bit cooler and are having a blast
|Have worn nothing but shorts and shirts since we got here
Wish none of you were here because the place is already crowded (8 and counting), but hope you're all having a nice time without me
